In this episode, I talk with Y'Na Evans about her role as a Doula. Mrs. Y’Na Evans is a birth and postpartum doula serving the Greater Atlanta area. In addition, Y’Na is a graphic designer with a degree in art and over 14 years of experience. She is one of the founding members of Atlanta Doula Collective where she functions as the Social Media Manager and Graphic designer. She also is a Community Partner with the Birth Justice Fund run by Sister song. Y’Na is fully trained in an Ancient Kemetic yoga healing modality as well as currently certifying to become a Prenatal and Postnatal fitness specialist.
As a childbirth professional she physically and emotionally supports, advocates, encourages expecting families. She is very passionate about creating and holding space for mothers before, during, and after childbirth. She believes, “The way that a woman enters motherhood can leave a powerful imprint on how she approaches her health, wellness and self-care in the future.” Healthy mothers in mind, body, and spirit tend to have healthy thriving children. Like most doulas, her doula bag has all the tools for comforting and supporting moms. However, she also uses her divine tools of intuition, instinct, wisdom, experience, empathy, creativity, compassion, and love. These tools cannot be certified or taught.
Y’Na is happily married with five amazing children. As a very spiritual person, who loves cultivating a relationship with The Divine. She loves peace, quiet, and coziness. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, communing with God in nature, hiking, stretching, dancing, listening to good music, a good movie, eating delicious food, art exhibitions, reading, and creating.
