In this episode of the Tee It Up Pod, we’re joined by two standout golfers, Jordan Smith and David Micheluzzi, as they reflect on their recent performances and dive into the excitement surrounding the 2024 Australian Open.

We kick things off with a lighthearted introduction, with Micha (David Micheluzzi) returning home after his impressive T5 finish at the Australian PGA, and Jordan Smith making his debut on the pod – just minutes after hearing about us! Jordan shares his thoughts on his T21 finish at the Aussie PGA, his first impressions of Australia, and his incredibly consistent season on the DP World Tour, including narrowly missing out on a PGA Tour card by just 10 points.

The conversation then shifts to Micha's impressive stats from his first season on the DP World Tour, including his 4th ranking in Strokes Gained: Putting, and how he reflects on his growth as a player. We discuss his journey from an Australian amateur to a top contender on the international stage and hear about the challenges and triumphs along the way.

Jordan also opens up about his unique path into golf, having started the game late at 12 years old after a childhood spent playing rugby and soccer. He recalls his maiden win at the 2017 Porsche European Open and his emotional victory at the 2022 Portugal Masters, where he set a DP World Tour record with his 30-under score, although it didn't go down in the books due to preferred lies.

The conversation gets even more entertaining as the guys take us inside the DP World Tour locker room: who are the alpha males, the jokers, and the introverts/nerds? It’s a fun peek behind the scenes at life on tour.

With the Australian Open just around the corner, both Jordan and Micha discuss their expectations for the event, including how they think the Melbourne Sandbelt courses will play and whether we can expect to see Micha’s trademark ‘stomp clap’ from the crowd.

This episode is packed with insights, laughs, and the inside story on two of Australia’s best golfers. Be sure to tune in for a candid chat about the highs, lows, and camaraderie of life on the tour!
