The migration discussion to the cloud continues starting with the increased activity of Vishing and advanced threats on the rise with the purpose to steal sensitive data.
    Andrew De La Torre
Andrew points out that previous attacks have been on the network and system layers, they are now targeting users and the call centers. While call centers have become targets, contact centers also reap the benefits of cloud communication security and will continue to achieve customer success.
As for the future of communications, Zoom and Microsoft Teams have expanded rapidly recently. However, a major expansion can be seen with Real Time Communications  in the industrial sector. This will be enhanced and accelerated with the deployment of 5G.
Listen in to hear Andrew’s insightful comments, you will not be disappointed.

  • Snom D865, Snom D862 game changing router phone that matches small site challenges, Podcast
Snom D865, Snom D862 game changing router phone that matches small site challenges, Podcast, Telin says demand already high
“Now the phone can act as that router,” says Antoine Karachekhlian, Channel Director, North America for Snom. In this podcast Antoine joins Spencer Lee, CEO of Telin, as we report on the release of the Snom D865 and Snom D862 in Canada and the United States, specifically geared towards the 3CX market. As Antoine explains, the ability of the phone to act as a router, radically changes the footprint of equipment needed on-prem for a business and reduces the number of items to be installed when a channel partner does a refresh for the small business clients. In this case the phone itself can act as a gateway. Antoine also tells us about how these new Snom, phones leverage 3CX features.
“This is a fantastic news coming out of Snom, says Spencer Lee of Telin. Spencer tells us how the router phone makes a common challenge much easier to match. Many even larger firms, consist of small stores. Each store is like a small business, and it not well suited for the complexity of an installation involving SBCs and more. The router phone delivers the security needed, the technology refresh required, all in a robust package which the actual end user customer will experience. Spencer says there’s already high dealer interest because they can easily scale and match this solution to many already existing customers
The Snom D865 is designed to be versatile to meet many tasks and applications. The phone is equipped with WiFi, Bluetooth and 2 USB ports as well as 10 freely programmable function keys. In addition, it comes with a high-quality, 40° continuously adjustable 5" LCD screen, which always ensures an optimal display, regardless of the lighting situation at the workplace. The end point also comes with HD audio, works with advanced noise reduction. It is also hearing aid compatible.
The Snom D862 offers an entry-level device for the Snom D8xx series and is ideally suited for any desk with its elegant design. Equipped with a high-quality, 40° continuously adjustable 5" LCD screen, it always offers a very good overview, regardless of the lighting situation at the workplace. The 8 freely programmable function keys are ideal as BLF keys or for storing speed dials and a variety of other functions.

  • Iterate.ai co-founder eyes AI approach to solving global climate challenges, solutions for basic human needs for food and water, Podcast
    Podcast 2 of 2
AI is power hungry, or at least it can be, according to Brian Sathianathan, Co-Founder of Iterate.ai. Generative AI can be intense, and it can use power, generously. Meanwhile AI is being touted as aa tool to help with global warming, with both direct applications for industry, and in other cases being used to match human needs to improve the efficiency of water (and the energy involved in delivering water, and food). Brian sees a path to an AI environment where AI can tackle both challenges. Sathianathan describes a path to lower AI energy use and describes ways for AI to be applied to match both human and environmental needs. He sees a future where AI runs almost in the background, quietly providing the benefits of automation and, with the right methods, nit getting in the way of its own gains.
Can this balance between innovation and responsible control be found? And will new AI technology expedite our global sustainability efforts?
"The deliberations at the recent Paris Peace Forum regarding AI represent a critical juncture in our collective approach to sustainable development. As experts and policymakers harness AI's transformative capabilities, it is imperative that its integration is strategically aligned with our global objectives for climate sustainability. This forum and the conversations regarding AI in Paris need to serve as a catalyst for a deeper understanding of AI's potential as a tool for ecological stewardship. It is essential to maintain balance where technological progress does not come at the expense of our planet's health. Our focus must be on crafting AI solutions that are not only innovative but also ethically and environmentally responsible, reflecting a commitment to a sustainable and equitable future,” stated Brian Sathianathan, in a previously published statement.
With proper regulation and global collaboration, AI has the potential to create lasting impact on the climate crisis, and Iterate.ai is ready to be part of these efforts.

  • Quality of Meeting Makes a Difference, Jabra Podcast
New generation, new needs are part of the picture as Jabra looks at 2024
“It really makes a difference,” says Anders Hvelplund, SVP of Enterprise Headsets at Jabra. Anders relates a common experience. The night out with friends and family at a noisy restaurant. You can come home feeling tired and drawn. In a special study that Jabra conducted with the London School of Economics, findings showed that meeting quality, the ability to clearly hear and see other participants, had a highly measurable impact on things such as employee fatigue. “We are passionate about audio. We are passionate about video,” says Anders, noting Jabra’s 150 years of audio experience. In this podcast we learn that as we look to 2024, the watchword in our market might be quality. A new generation of workers are coming in with new expectations and sub-par falls below that mark.
“We live in interesting times,” relates Anders as we enter the middle of a turbulent decade, that has witnessed pandemic and disruption. Anders discusses that as a new generation pours into the workforce, worker well-being is ever more a focus. In this new environment, details matter. People expect products to be robust, to work on demand in any environment, in any situation, with every level of noise and distraction going on nearby. Products will need to be extremely portable, light, durable, plug and play, and more, to meet the expectations of a changed labor pool.  “Everything needs to be flexible,” Anders comments.

  • Entity Identity Management for Service Providers, Numeracle Podcast
Creating a Securely Managed Environment for Callers on Your Network, Days of the Big Dumb Pipe are Over
“Now more than ever,” says Sarah Delphey, VP Trust Solutions, Numeracle, “… enterprises are really demanding that service providers get into this realm and help them out.” A company’s digital identity, their organization’s digital footprint, is an asset, part of a brand that must be protected. Sarah tells us that as we tackle the unwanted call battle, consumers want to know that the calls they receive can be trusted. In this podcast, Sarah argues that its time for the service providers to be enablers of those services which make trusted calling and calls, something that enterprises and their consumers can depend on. “The day of just saying, ‘I am a mere dumb pipe’… those days are over.” We hear the case for taking charge, stepping up and offering a better level of service. We learn how this can be done and about ready to go resources, with a big focus on KYC.
Numeracle is an industry pioneer and leader with actionable solutions for legal callers that prioritizes their calling identity as the foundation to restoring trust in the voice channel and to their calls by removing barriers, like improper spam labels, from harming their phone numbers. Numeracle's Entity Identity Management™ (EIM) platform puts enterprise brands, BPOs, and service providers in direct control of their identity, which we vet and verify. Our EIM platform can also be used to manage branded communications, to improve call reputation with blocking and labeling prevention and spam label remediation, and we provide visibility into call display to ensure brand identity is presented as intended, with transparency and consistency. Our KYC-based identity vetting and verification is the cornerstone of the platform; developed in support of evolving federal regulations and telecom standards.
