This week Craig tell us of a series of kidnapping, rapes and murder of seven young women and girls in Truro, Australia by a charming young psychopath, Christopher Worrall and his besotted and doting accomplice, James Miller in late 1970s.
In 1978, locals were out foraging for mushrooms when they discovered the leg bone of a cow... or so they thought. Upon closer inspection, they noted that the bone had a shoe attached; inside the shoe was human skin and painted toenails. Clothes, blood stains, and more bones were found nearby. The body was identified to be that of Veronica Knight who had been reported missing two years earlier, around Christmas 1976.
A year later, the body of Sylvia Pittman was discovered by bush rangers, a mere kilometre from Veronica Knight. She had gone missing around a similar time to Veronica Knight.
With clear links between the two victims, police found that at least five other women had gone missing in similar circumstances and began an extensive search of the area. The search revealed a two further skeletons; those of Connie Iordanides and Vicki Howell.
With police struggling to make headway in finding the perpetrator, a reward was issued for any information leading to an arrest. A woman called Amelia rang in saying that James Miller, a friend of an ex-boyfriend had said some strange things to her at a funeral, something about Chris' love of 'thrill-killing'.
This phone call would lead to the confession and arrest of James Miller. But what happened to Chris Worrall?
