The Silver Ferns are returning to the court for the first time since claiming the Commonwealth Gold. 

They're facing Australia in the Constellation Cup, their first game at a sold-out Spark Arena. They'll be eager to claim the series victory, as it would make them #1 in the world.

It's finals week for the Heartland Championship. 

King Country must conquer Meads Cup defending champions Mid Canterbury to triumph for their union's most famous son this afternoon. 

The Rams travel to Ashburton for their first tier one final —named for Te Kuiti's own Sir Colin "Pinetree" Meads— in the 20-year history of Heartland Championship rugby. 

Meanwhile, South Canterbury and Whanganui compete for the second tier Lochore Cup down State Highway One in Timaru tomorrow. 

Heartland rugby expert Kevin Hare joined Adam Cooper to preview the finals.

The Auckland Storm roll into One New Zealand Stadium for the Farah Palmer Cup final knowing near perfection will be required to beat Canterbury. 

An unbeaten red and blacks have marched into the final with a convincing 57-7 win over Manawatu, while Auckland fought out a 36-31 win over defending champions Waikato to qualify. 

The Storm's Zara Papalii joined D'Arcy Waldegrave to preview the clash.

A Supercars rookie has announced himself ahead of the latest edition of Bathurst. 

Zach Bates has claimed provisional pole heading into today's Top 10 shootout, by clocking the first sub two-minute-four second lap in a Gen-three car at the track. 

Matt Payne is the sole lead New Zealand driver to make the shootout, with Richie Stanaway's also in the final stage of qualifying as the co-driver for James Golding. 

Ryan Wood will start from the back of the grid for Sunday's race after a crash in practice kept him from attempting qualifying.

A green light for expression has Leroy Carter feeling free ahead of tonight's first Bledisloe Cup test with Australia in Auckland.  

New Zealand is putting their 53 test unbeaten record at Eden Park on the line, with Carter starting on the wing.  

Carter says All Blacks coach Dave Rennie has given him full confidence to be himself. 

He told D'Arcy Waldegrave that everyone brings their own talents to the team, and Rennie's pretty keen on everyone going out and doing what they're good at.
