  • Episode 474 – What Is More Fascinating On Social Media? Engagement Or Education?
    What's more important to you and your business… Engagement or Education when it comes to posting on Social Media? Well that depends on many factors? What platform are you posting? What are your goals, and who is your audience, and where are they hanging out?

    Engagement is very measurable and desirable, but it's not always an indication of action. People engage in different ways. They comment, like or share and that can be very exciting, but may or may not culminate in any sales.

    Education is creating longer form posts and often links to deeper educational content (like blogs, podcasts, videos, and more). Educating people takes longer to create and often generates less but more targeted engagement. There is, however, and long term cumulative effect that can lead to measurable sales.

    Also in this podcast, I share some posting automation tools that are either popular or ones that I actually use and love (see Brianloves.info for more details on some of them).

    * Buffer
    * HootSuite
    * CoSchedule
    * Planable
    * 366

    In this episode, we will explore the parts and benefits of both kinds of content. Each have their strengths and I strongly suggest that you explore and use both in your online marketing strategy.

  • Episode 472 – The Anatomy of the Perfect Social Media Post
    Would you take a flight knowing that it was ONLY running on autopilot? Why would you try to do that with your social media posts?

    Every platform has a different audience, but more importantly, a different ecosystem for posts. They vary in picture size, text amounts, hashtags or no hashtags, and more!

    I use Canva.com (both the free and paid for versions) to create stunning (scroll stopping) graphics. The paid for version lets you resize and reuse your designs.

    Graphics are the key to getting attention, but often the meat (BACON) of the message is in the text. Limits range from 280-2000 characters (not words). How you format and use that limited messaging resource is paramount to the effectiveness of your messaging!

    In this episode, I will discuss how to maximize Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest (and touch on Instagram). I wall also give you three DO & DON'T tips to help you get the most out of your social media posts!

    If you want people to fly your content airline... Let them know that you are piloting the plane!

  • Episode 470 – How To Make Your Content Marketing Messages More Memorable!?
    In the last episode, I interviewed Jane Atkinson about public speaking as a tool for your business. In that Interview she mention that she like to create keynote speeches that start with a story, make three memorable points, and then close with another story.

    I Thought that was The Perfect Content Strategy, so I wanted to explore that concept a bit further.

    I suggest you keep your posts short and to the points (3-5 to be exact). You should also use some memorable hooks that are easy to remember and repeat. Kind of like the ear worm in a good song hook or chorus!

    Here are some techniques I have used and the may help you...

    * Rhyme Time
    * The ACRONYM
    * Play On Words

    In this episode, we will discuss these concepts and some examples of how I have used them to successfully used them to get people to keep my brand and blogs and podcasts - Top of Mind!  P.S I would love to get a comment on what you think was the most memorable line from this podcast!

  • Episode 469 – Taking The Fear And Mystery Out Of Speaking For Your Business with Jane Atkinson

    They say “It's hard to see the label when you're inside the jar." My specialty is to help speakers see and work on what they can't see in their business.
    Having worked with professional speakers for nearly three decades, I understand the common challenges that speakers face. Those that are just starting to seasoned pros often struggle with three main challenges: positioning; branding; and rolling out consistent messaging to their fan base.
    I help speakers of all levels develop and launch their business, solidify their brand and message, and market and monetize their keynotes.
    I do this through three books that I’ve written: The Wealthy Speaker 2.0, The Epic Keynote, and The Wealthy Speaker Daily Success Planner and Journal, as well as through online courses, group coaching, and private coaching.
    As one long-term client shared: "What changed for me working with Jane? Everything…we’ve been together since the beginning and 3 years later we are well on our way to building a million dollar business. She is the definitive Speaker Launcher!” - Ryan Estis, Performance Expert

  • Episode 468 – Why Are You Selling Dog Food To Cat People?
    Selling Dog Food To Cat People means that just because someone has a pet, it does not mean that they are potential customers for all kinds of pet foods. Yeah they may get a dog some day, but right now they are paying attention to their immediate needs.

    Everyone needs water. Consumers and businesses need water, but as you start to niche down, you discover there are differences. Home owners are different than renters, and service businesses have different needs for water than manufacturing.

    Some people treat marketing like everyone is a customer, but are they really? In today's short attention span theater, you have to get the right message, to the right person, at the right time!

    Here are 5 things you should do with your targeted marketing...

    *
    Pare Down Your Audience
    *
    Customize Your Messaging
    *
    One Message Per Email or Post
    *
    Same Link 3 Times
    *
    Be Consistent - Once A Week

    In this episode I will explain how "The Riches Are In The Niches". Those niches are your portential customers and they have an itch. It's your job to find them and help them scratch it!

  • Episode 466 – 6 Ways You Need To Perfect Your LinkedIn Profile
    When it comes to online marketing and social media, people tend to engage from emotion, but buy for benefits. LinkedIn is no different (sort of). It's different than any other social platform because it's more professionally based. That means what works on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and others, may or may not work on LinkedIn.

    LinkedIn differs because the audience is used to the corporate environment. They appreciate training, information, and whatever helps them in their professional careers and business. It does not have to be stodgy. Just the opposite, it should be creative, just not as casual (no posting of cat videos and memes).

    Here are the 6 most important parts of your profile that you need to focus on (because they are usually above the fold) to emotionally engage people who are researching you...

    * Profile Picture
    * Header Image
    * Summary
    * Media Files
    * Contact Info

    In this episode, we will discuss the above 6 topics in more detail, and how you take build a bridge between the emotionally engaged to the buyers of your benefits.
