If there’s one thing that’s for certain in investing and business… it’s that nothing will ever be certain. Opportunities come and go, industries come and go, markets come and go. But what causes entire markets to thrive and what causes them to die? Not only that, how can we better understand these cycles to better take advantage of opportunity?

The last thing any of us wants to do is to invest in a dying market. This means we have to be able to look at and effectively analyze relevant metrics within those businesses and markets. This means understanding risk and planning for it. It also means understanding both the micro and the macroeconomics of an industry and business. What can you control and what do you have zero control over in these arenas? How does policy and regulation affect and potentially affect that market?

This is just the surface of what we’re going to cover in today’s episode. There’s a lot to digest and a lot to think about, so be ready to take notes so that you can take what we talk about here and apply it to your endeavors.
