Building resilience, going on retreat, enjoying 1980s fashion, diary disasters and, of course, more TV recommendations
We dive deep pretty quickly in this episode and talk about building resilience in the tough times; what it looks like when we are in the tough times; what it looks like when our friends and loved ones are in those times; and overcoming our urge to rescue people we love who are struggling and instead joining them in the struggle. But as ever we don’t stay in the deep waters for too long but come up to the shallows to ponder frilly collars and cuffs, Libby’s diary disasters and the joy of Netflix’s Chesapeake Shores

Do you find shifting gear after Christmas & the New Year Challenging? Grown up children head back to their lives and the hall is bare without their shoes. It's like taking a cold bath - a shock to the system - and then just as you get used to it, back they pop!
In this episode we're talking about how proprietorial we've become over our kitchens and laundry rooms, trips to Brandy Melville with the teens (if you've not been there yet you must go - not!) what revision for mock exams looks like these days (it's VERY different to the 80s) and crushes on Ian Hislop & Gary Barlow.

In this episode my friend, Libby, and I consider (from varying angles!) an especially wise quote from Matt Haig which reads as follows:
"You don't need a new you. You don't need replacing every year like another iPhone. Don't throw yourself away like another piece of plastic trash. Love the old you. Improve, evolve, do better, but head towards yourself not away. Be gentle with your mind."
It's such a profound quote and led us down many different avenues, before we reached our ultimate goal of today's episode which was discuss, and share with you, our favourite TV series.
We hope that you enjoy the ride!

I'm so excited to be sharing all about the "divine feminine" with you on the podcast. It is a concept that I've come across fairly recently. And in all honesty, I cannot believe that I've reached my grand age without really coming across it before. It is revelatory in figuring out how to gain more balance in your life.
The point of the podcast has always been to share with you things that I come across by way of new concepts, ideas and beliefs that I think might help to make your life a little bit easier. So I hope that this does too.
One of the ways that I started to understand more about the divine feminine was by reading a book that I'm going to recommend to you called "The Divine Feminine" by Layla moon which you can get HERE.
If you'd like to come and find me on IG you can do so at bethgoodrham and to find out more about what I have to share with you and how I can help, come and visit my website HERE.

Biohacking. What are the benefits of biohacking? Is it safe? Does it work?
Today, I'm going to be talking about biohacking. Biohacking is something that we're hearing about more and more and something I've become super interested in over the last 18 months or so. So I thought I would share with you what biohacking is all about.
You don't have to be a silicone valley billionaire to be interested in biohacking. It's available to anyone, whatever your age and stage in life and is about optimising your own health and well-being by making simple changes which "hack" your biology.
During the course of the episode I'll be exploring what is biohacking? What are the benefits of biohacking? Is it safe? Does it work? And then I'm going to give you 10 quick biohacks that you can use in your every day life to promote your health and wellbeing.
Below is my Stripe & Stare discount code, the podcast episode with the founder of Stripe & Stare (referred to in the episode) and the biohacking articles that I referred to in the episode, just in case you'd like to find out more:
Ever had the time to investigate haircare, make-up and beauty? No, me neither until surgery for a hysterectomy forced me off my feet and in to bed, where I began to dig into the incredible world of purple shampoo, face oils and foundation to make you glow!
Come on a journey with me as I share the discoveries I made as I tried out different products, practically from my bed!
If you like the podcast it would be lovely if you could rate and review it. And if you'd like to come and say hi, you can find me on Instagram here or come and take a look at my shiny new website here
Hello and welcome! This podcast forms part of a mini series of podcasts called "Lessons from my bed."
Several weeks ago I had an abdominal hysterectomy and as a result of that, I have spent a lot of time in my bed. I've learned a lot, not only about life in general, but about myself in terms of surrendering to things and having to be accepting of what is happening.
Although I knew I would get better, my life has been so different. I haven't been able to do any exercise, which forms a large part of who I am and what I do. There's been no cooking, no cleaning, no washing, no ironing, no food shopping, no walking.
My freedom has been massively curtailed. I felt like I'd been cut in half. There were so many things that changed that I had just had to be really accepting of. As a result of that, I've learned lots of things. So I thought what I would do is make them into a series of podcast episodes, in the hope that you might find them helpful to.
In this episode I'm sharing all that I learned about style and fashion - how I created a file of outfit ideas for inspiration to see me through the next few months and the surprising role that clothes played in my recovery. And if it helps to know, there's also talk about the upcoming trends for the season!
I hope that you enjoy it and please feel free to drop me an email at [email protected] or come and find me on instagram at bethgoodrham 💗
Hello! The purpose of this episode is to offer you help and advice if you're facing a hysterectomy, or to help you to support a friend, or family member, who is. During the episode I share with you how my hysterectomy came about, what my hospital stay looked like and what the recovery time is like afterwards.
I had a lot of messages on Instagram from people saying that they were worried about their upcoming op as they don't know what to expect, or they weren't sure whether to have it done now, or in the future. So I thought I'd share my experience in the hope that it might offer even just a little bit of help or reassurance.
Here’s what I cover in this episode:
This episode is for anyone facing a hysterectomy, managing post-surgical recovery, or simply wanting insight into women’s health, midlife changes, and gentle ways to look after yourself after surgery.
I also share my plans for upcoming episodes about what you can achieve from your bed if you’re recovering from surgery, whether it’s a hip replacement, bunion operation, or hysterectomy. Even when you feel like you’ve “stopped,” there’s so much progress you can make.
I hope my story offers some comfort, practical tips, and reassurance that recovery is possible, and that life post-hysterectomy can feel positive and empowering.
If you have any questions about hysterectomy recovery, self-care, or women’s health, come and find me on Instagram at @bethgoodrham.
If you’re facing a hysterectomy or curious about the process, this episode is for you.
What I cover in this episode:
I also share personal anecdotes about my family support, tips from others who have had hysterectomies, and the little things that helped me feel more like myself during recovery.
If you have a hysterectomy coming up or just want to hear about someone else’s experience, I hope this episode gives you reassurance, inspiration, and practical advice for a smoother recovery.

Thinking about trying a keto diet but worried about restrictions? In this episode, I break down how to make keto simple, delicious and sustainable, with tips for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. I share my favourite meals, snacks, substitutions and pantry essentials, plus the surprising benefits I’ve noticed, like increased energy, less brain fog and tastier meals.
What you’ll learn in this episode:
Whether you’re curious about keto or looking for ways to make your meals more interesting, this episode shows how easy it can be to eat low-carb, feel energised and enjoy every meal.
Much love, Beth x
