Welcome to the penultimate Avengers movie re-review series of the Blackdog podcast. This week, apart from, reviewing the “rippling” Chris Hemsworth as Thor, the guys also discuss in a 10 minute spoiler zone the Joss Whedon / Drew Goddard horror deconstruction movie Cabin in the Woods, and it is strongly suggested that if you have any interest in seeing that film you avoid that bit like the plague. The guys also chat games, painting bathrooms, the perils of eating Nandos chicken unawares and late night texting.

Before Lee & Darren tackle the start of their multi part run up to the release of The Avengers with Robert Downey Jnr’s career reviving turn as Tony Stark in this weeks film Iron Man, there is plenty to cover. With such diverse subjects as the end of Mass Effect 3 (again), Lee’s unfortunate interaction with a fox and his even more unfortunate mouth wash moment. The news underwhelms but the guys muddle through a total recall trailer for a trailer (?), Bane promo stills that make him look like an internet baby meme image, Hit Girl starring in Carrie remake and Robocops helmet. Then with a couple of podcast nods for Shonky Lab and the Babylon Project and our weekly entry (ooerr missus) from Jim Moon’s Profanisarus and Darren slowly succumbing to a heart attack the podcast finally deals with Tony Stark as everyone proclaims proudly they are Iron Man…. Sparticus was unavailable for comment on this turn of events.

This week’s black dog is beset by fatigue and ennui, which is ironic as the guys are re-reviewing Invasion of the Body Snatchers 70s remake. But not only are they fighting off vegetables, but theres also thrilling tales of hot coffee, Mass Effect fanboys, Prometheus trailers, Gumball in Romanian and mice hunting. Next week the guys embark upon the first step towards the assembling the Avengers, when they start re-reviewing all of Marvels mightiest movie heroes starting with Robert Downey Jnr’s career reviving turn as Tony Stark in Iron Man

This week we’re both a bit tired and strung out primarily from saving the universe from the Reaper threat in Mass Effect 3. However, we do our best to bring you news about Tron 3, Johnny Depps attempt to be the Crowman from Werzil Gummage, we follow on from our “Fart in a lift” moment with a terrifying tale of being stuck in a lift for five minutes and in a moment of indecision we throw two jingles down some stairs. We have another fine profanisaurus entry from Jim Moon before we get our Metaluna on and review 50s cheese fest This Island Earth.

This week Lee & Darren talk about such diverse subjects as mystery flavoured crisps, men in black 3, getting a coat of arms for conservatory builders and farting in a lift. Then after some film news and another glorious entry in the Jim Moon Profanasaurus, we move on to the main event. The guys review quite possibly the worst film in existance: Tommy Wiseau’s The Room

We try to eke out some news from some interview snippets on IO9 and tell you why the Prometheus International Trailer isn’t any different from the US one and all the while Lee wazzes off over his new fiber optic internet connection. We also have the third of Jim Moons profanisaurus before we put on the Rose Tinted Specs to watch Tom Hanks “when he was funny” and re-review his 1986 film The Money Pit.
