The Capitals are in a bit of an unfamiliar territory. They're the underdogs. This is a team that's been consistently good for years.

The New York Rangers were the president trophy winners and Capitals. Well, they had to win the last game of the season to qualify for the playoffs.

The Caps missed the playoffs for the first time in 8 years last season.

The Capitals and their fans were ready for them to right the ship and get back into the playoffs.

The Capitals enter into this series with no expectations of anything. Just feeling lucky and ultimately, they knew they had the right players in the locker room to get it done.
