In this edition of Locked on Capitals Dan talks about the Caps loss to the Lightning by a score of 5-1. The Caps got off to a slow start and the lightning took advantage. TJ Oshie left the game with an upper body injury. Darcy Kuemper made a valiant effort to keep the Caps in this game and made 29 saves. Some of them were high danger. Craig Smith scores his seventh goal of the season to cut the deficit to 2-1. Smith is now two goals shy of 200 career goal.Anthony Mantha recorded the primary assist on Smith's goal, his 17th assist of the season. Mantha has registered 19 points (6g, 13a) in 25 career games against the Lightning, the most points he has scored against a single opponent. Rasmus Sandin was credited with the secondary assist on Smith's goal. Sandin has recorded 13 points (1g, 12a) in 13 games with Washington since making his team debut on March 4.Since March 4, Sandin's 13 points rank third on Washington (Dylan Strome: 17p; Alex Ovechkin: 15p). Connoc McMichael has been making the most of his opportunity in Hershey. . He has three goals and seven assists in his last 11 games, including points in his last eight games.
