Emma Doyle interviews brothers, Mark and Scott Draper. Emma and Mark were the coaches for the Australian 2018 Junior Fed Cup and Davis Cup. Emma has always been inspired by both of the Draper brothers, as they are dream-seekers and she relates to Scott's transition from tennis into Corporate coaching.

His brother, Mark Draper, is a former professional tennis player as well reaching from Australia and competing in the singles draw of three Grand Slams. He is a Tennis Australia High-Performance Coach and the current National Academy Coach in Queensland.

This is our Festive Season special mini-episode with the one and only coaching legend, Nick Bollettieri. Emma Doyle interviews Nick during the Italian Coaches Conference Symposium where the Pope was the keynote speaker. It was one of the few times where there were more people to see the Pope that's Nick presentation!! He is cheeky and passionate and I'm so grateful for his support over the years. Emma Doyle has followed Louis Cayer's coaching methodologies and attended many of his lectures over the years. When jumped at the opportunity to interview him when they both presented in London at the Lawn Tennis Association Coaches Conference right before Wimbledon in 2017.

In this episode, Louis talks about what makes a great coach - someone who cares and has a vision for the player. He said, "the player has a dream-goal vision. For me (as a coach) I have a process vision.’ And therefore, as a coach, ‘I need (to have) an awareness of standards, assess where they are, (and then focus on) how will I bridge the gap. And when I have a clear vision of how I can bridge that gap, I know very well that they will succeed and I share that belief with them.’

As a coach for over 44 years, Louis Cayer has made a name for himself in tennis here and abroad. He started out in the sport at 16 years old, working for the city of Montreal. In 1976, he pursued his career at the Club de tennis Îles des Soeurs, where he spent 30 years. Cayer has worked with nine Top 100 singles players and over 30 Top 100 doubles specialists. He coached the Canadian Davis Cup team from 1989 to 1993 and was team captain from 1994 to 2000. He also prepared Sébastien Lareau and Daniel Nestor for their quest for gold at the Sydney Olympics.

Cayer played a determining role in coach training in Canada. While earning his degree in education, he developed an actions oriented methodology that, in 1989, formed the educational framework for the Canadien tennis coaching certification system and led to the game-based approach promoted by the International Tennis Federation. He oversaw the national certification program from 1989 until his departure for Great Britain. A gifted speaker, Cayer has travelled to over 30 countries to take part in every ITF conference since 1987. In 2011, he was awarded the ITF Service to the Game award in recognition of his remarkable contribution to tennis. Since 2007, Cayer has lived in England and worked at the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) as the director of high-performance coaching. His collaborations with the British Fed Cup and Davis Cup teams were key to the nation’s success in doubles. In 2012, Cayer’s efforts helped Jonny Marray take the Wimbledon doubles crown after Britain’s 76-year wait.

Louis Cayer was inducted into the Canadian Tennis Hall of Fame in recognition of his invaluable contributions to the history of tennis in Canada.

She spends her time coaching and directing 24 pro’s at The Riviera Tennis Club as well as still being a speaker/consultant all over the country. A member of the USPTA for over 35 years, Mary Pat was one of the premier speakers at the 2010 USPTA World Conference in Palm Springs, CA. Chuck Gill and Emma Doyle connected at the 2021 USPTA World Convention in Las Vegas. Emma has followed Chuck's career over the years and she has always been inspired by his humble leadership skills. Coach Chuck Gill is the Director of Tennis for 29 courts at the Village Of Wellington, Florida. Originally from Richmond, Virginia, where he developed his love for tennis on high school courts and in public parks, Gill earned a college tennis scholarship and studied business administration. He has 45 years of experience teaching tennis to players of all ages and levels, as well as leading clubs, resorts and now public tennis centers.

He has spoken at conferences for the USTA, USPTA and CMAA. He was the USPTA National past President and a USTA Florida section board member. Above all else, he is a husband and Dad, an all-around good guy, and one of the hippest old geeks you’ll ever meet!

In addition to tennis, Roger also excelled on the football field. During one particular game, the crowd in the stadium witnessed something they will never forget. He recovered a fumble and was bolting for the end zone when an opponent pulled his artificial leg off! Undaunted, Roger hopped over the goal line for a touchdown! Adam Blicher is a Sport Psychology Consultant who is a part of the External Team of Sport Psychology Consultants at Team Denmark (The Olympic Committee). He works with everyone from the local club hero to athletes competing at European-, World Championships and the Olympics. “There is a difference between being tired, and exhausted.” A sentence which rings through when describing Ric Charlesworth, and his approach to sporting pursuits and life itself. Charlesworth is a sporting icon, both for his playing efforts and later his coaching successes. During his sport, he studied Medicine and worked in Politics, but he will forever be known as The Coach. He specialises in knowing what triggers people (himself included) to be the best, and be their best. After retiring from coaching the Kookaburras in 2014, Charlesworth continues to spend his time working, part-time motivational speaker and full-time Dad.
Sport – as a player: Charlesworth was an avid cricketer. He played for 8 years in the WA state team. But his first love was hockey, in the National team playing 18 years for WA, and National teams for 17 years. Throughout this period, he was selected for 5 and went to 4 Olympics with the Australian team.
It was here in his own sporting life that he learnt the difference between being tired, and exhausted. He learnt that if he could take anything from his own playing days, it would be that to be a good coach you must distinguish the difference between the two, and push people beyond what they thought was possible. "In my 14 years of coaching National teams, both men and women, I have never met a player who knew how good they could be."
Sport – as a coach: Charlesworth prided himself on preparation and being willing to try new ideas. Sometimes it is necessary to select based on attitude, rather than skill. A strong attitude ensures the individual has both the desire and ability to be pushed.
Hockeyroos coach for 8 years (1993-2000); 2 Olympic Gold medals & 2 World Cup Golds. They sat ranked #1 in the world for the entire period with Charlesworth as coach. Kookaburras coach for 6 years (2009-2014); Olympic Bronze, 2 World Cup Golds & Commonwealth Games titles.
He treated his coaching as an opportunity to elevate the sports ambitions of both himself, and others, placing emphasis on bettering the people he had and finding new and exciting talent. Adding value to the athletes and building depth in his squad. It was his background in medicine and politics that provided him with an unusual blend of expertise for his life as a coach.

Emma Doyle had the pleasure of meeting a total young game-changer, in person, back in 2017 named Daniel Flynn. She was blown away and moved by his purpose for being on this planet. He reminds us all to find a mentor who can call you out on your blind spots and ask yourself the question - 'why are you here? What's your purpose?'
