Today I’m talking about two big ideas that are at the center of a lot of the conversations around weight loss, disordered eating and body image.
The first is that the processes of rebuilding trust with food and losing weight are not mutually exclusive. You can do both at the same time-and in fact, if you want to lose weight, rebuilding trust with food is the only sustainable way to do it.
The second, and directly linked to the first, is that creating restriction and scarcity around food drives the demand and desire to overeat and binge.
As always I share some of my own personal experiences with this journey as a way to help you begin shifting some of your long held beliefs about what it means to be healthy and lose weight.
I talk through some simple, tangible ways to begin moving away from the restrict/binge cycle and developing confidence in trusting your body which is one of the hardest, but most important skills we need to learn on this journey. Because confidence comes from taking action.
