Dom Giordano, WPHT host and former teacher, has dedicated much of his daily show toward parents who are taking it into their own hands to push back against school boards that have a negative impact on their children. This has culminated in a weekly podcast on education, Readin', Writin', and Reason, which has allowed wonderful relationships to develop between Giordano, educators, and parents throughout the country who are speaking out against overbearing school boards.
First, Dom welcomes back Riley Gaines, women’s rights activist and Director of the Riley Gaines Center, to hear what she’s been up to as she continues to face the flack of the Trans community as she strives for protections under Title IX for competitive integrity. Gaines tells about an incident last week where she was verbally shunned and kicked off the campus at Penn State, contextualizing the series of events that puts the University’s biases on full display.
Then, Dom welcomes State Senator Cris Dush onto the podcast after the State Senator was filmed at the Riley Gaines event at Penn State defending the right to free speech against a very loud and angry protestor. Dush explains that Penn State is within his district, and this was another example of intimidation and bias on college campuses, a place in which open thought should be encouraged and fostered.
