Dom Giordano, WPHT host and former teacher, has dedicated much of his daily show toward parents who are taking it into their own hands to push back against school boards that have a negative impact on their children. This has culminated in a weekly podcast on education, Readin', Writin', and Reason, which has allowed wonderful relationships to develop between Giordano, educators, and parents throughout the country who are speaking out against overbearing school boards.
Every year on the Dom Giordano Program on Philadelphia's 1210WPHT, Dom awards his Local and National 'Person of the Year' to a regular guest for what they've done within the past year. This year, Dom will announce a Readin' Writin' Reason Person of the Year as well, a guest from our podcast who listeners deem the best guest from the last year. We will have three podcasts announcing two nominees each, with listeners voting for who should move on each week, narrowing down to a final three by the end of the year.
First, Dom nominates Megan Brock, a mother from Bucks County who, after becoming involved in holding local elected officials accountable, launched ParentsHaveTheRightToKnow.com. In today’s nominating interview, Dom welcomes back Megan Brock, a mom from out in Bucks County, who along with other parents continues their crusade to understand what’s being done inside schools, particularly centered on Coronavirus lockdowns. Today, Brock presented in Harrisburg to State Senate a new bill for parental rights along with State Senator and Gubernatorial Candidate Doug Mastriano. Brock tells about the new bill presented by the State Senator, stressing the necessity for transparency from both the State government and local school boards when determining decisions on curriculum and lockdowns.
Then, Dom speaks with Dr. Elana Fishbein, another local mother who founded No Left Turn in Education, which seeks to reduce the politicization of school curricula, now featuring over 100 chapters nationwide. In today’s sample interview, Dom welcomes Dr. Elana back onto the Dom Giordano Program to discuss a situation she’s uncovered during a October 25th West Chester, PA school board meeting, in which Superintendent Dr. Bob Sokolowski admitted that, while he was serving as a Principal, helped hide a student’s gender transition from parents. This comes after months of pushback by liberals about conservatives creating boogeymen in schools that this kind of stuff is not happening. Fishbein explains the situation in schools, and why she and other mothers with school-aged children have bonded together to form No Left Turn, to push back against overbearing school boards creating solutions for problems that don’t exist.
