After receiving word of a sample letter addressed to overbearing school boards by Philadelphia-area attorney Richard Gilly, of the heralded Archer and Grenier law firm, Dom pursues the lawyer to further discuss the letter that hopes to reframe the issues of many parents who feel strongly against masking children in schools through questions of legality. Among other non-threatening angles proposed in the letter that Gilly originally penned for a family member’s school board, Gilly writes, “there is no longer a declared emergency in Pennsylvania, which, alone, subjects the School Board’s decision to attack as far beyond the authorized reasonable measures school districts may take under 24PS Section 5-510.” Gilly explains the reasoning for the letter and tells what he hopes others can accomplish by sending it to school board members. Jody Della Barba, a longtime political heavy-hitter in Philadelphia, rejoins the Dom Giordano Program to share some good news that there will be a Columbus Day parade this year, for now. Ocean City Councilman Keith Hartzell rejoins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss a situation that many shore towns face as they try to address a growing rash of crime perpetrated by juveniles in shore towns. According to 6ABC, Ocean City police reportedly issued more than 10,000 warnings and arrested 107 juveniles since Memorial Day. Hartzell explains that the leadership in Trenton continues to try to address social issues and only repeatedly create issues for small towns, noting a conversation he shared with Senate President Steve Sweeney about the culmination of the policy that has led to police officers having their hands tied when dealing with unruly juveniles. Ralph Addonizio, President of the Wall Township, NJ Board of Education, joins the Dom Giordano Program after his school board spoke out against New Jersey Governor Murphy’s executive order for a mask mandate centered on schools in New Jersey. In a letter penned to Wall residents, Addonizio explained that the board takes issue with Executive Order 251 as it runs directly counter to a decision made by the district-wide Pandemic Response Team, which suggested that schools remain mask optional for the 2021-2022 school year. Addonizio explains that the new executive order removes decision-making from the school district and local leaders, those who know how to address the situation for their local area the best. Addonizio noted that the board is not coming out against mask mandates, and wants to leave open the possibility of requiring masks in the future, but the overbearing nature of an executive order makes the jobs of local officials even harder. Joseph Termini, co-owner of Termini Brothers Bakery, rejoins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss the decision by the city of Philadelphia to require businesses to choose between requiring all customers to mask up or require proof of vaccination. The owners of the bakery decided that it is more morally acceptable to require all customers to wear a mask instead of requiring papers for entry.  Termini explains that while he is not a fan of masks and hates that his workers have to work in such hot environments while wearing a mask, but argues against Giordano that it is legitimately the only suitable alternative, because they refuse to play the role of bouncer at their front door. Former Press Secretary Sean Spicer returns to the Dom Giordano Program to discuss the slow shift we’re seeing in the country toward becoming a ‘radical nation.’ In his upcoming book based on the topic, Radical Nation set to release in October, Spicer takes a deep look at the radicalism we are seeing on both sides of the political sphere of the country.
