  • EP376: Special Episode - Bittersweet Thanks: Navigating Gratitude in Times of Hardship and Uncertainty
In this episode, I dive into the difficulty of finding gratitude and thankfulness during times of hardship. I acknowledge the various losses that you may experience, whether it be of people, places, things, finances, or health, and recognize that it can be challenging to find things to be thankful for in these situations.

Throughout the episode, I emphasize the importance of recognizing that everyone's reality is different. I caution against comparing your own struggles to the highlight reels of others, as it can be detrimental. Instead, I encourage you to find something beautiful even in the midst of grief, trauma, uncertainty, and fear. This could be as small as a glimmer of hope, which has the power to raise your frequency and set positive change in motion.

I also talk about the significance of finding gratitude and thankfulness, even when it feels challenging. It may be difficult to cultivate these feelings, but it is necessary to do so. This episode also clarifies that gratitude and thankfulness do not excuse or negate the hardships someone may face. It is about finding a balance between acknowledging the difficulties and finding something to be grateful for.

It is okay to feel both gratitude and sadness simultaneously. Comparing one's struggles to others and shaming yourself for feeling sad because others have it worse is unhelpful. The episode warns that this self-shaming can keep a person stuck and have deeper consequences. Instead, you are encouraged to honor your own personal reality and the experiences.

  • EP375: Debunking the "getting in the room" and the BS you need to stop to make the most of those rooms
In this episode, I am talking about the impact of attending events, extending beyond merely listening to keynote speakers on stage. The true value lies in the connections and relationships formed with others. The network and the valuable knowledge gained are what truly matter. I believe you should prioritize utilizing the network and integrating what you have learned before moving on to the next event. The power of attending events lies in the connections made and the knowledge gained, rather than solely the act of speaking on stage.

I also talk about the importance of avoiding quick solutions or actions to address pain point - like putting a Band-Aid on a bullet hole. Instead, I believe you should dedicate time to acknowledge and understand the middle ground before taking action.

The middle ground refers to the messy and uncomfortable phase where you must confront your beliefs, pain points, and the underlying reasons driving your desire for change. It is within this space that you can explore worthiness, significance, and other factors influencing your actions. It serves as a platform for introspection and self-reflection.

By investing time in the middle ground, you can gain a deeper understanding of your motivations and beliefs. This self-awareness is crucial for making informed decisions and taking effective action. Acknowledge your pain points and thoroughly explore them before moving forward.

  • EP374: Putting the blinders on and owning the uniqueness in YOU with Jadyn Walden (Enneagram 4)
In this episode, I am speaking with Jadyn Walden. Throughout the episode, we stress the value of embracing one's uniqueness and being comfortable with standing out from the crowd. We discuss how conforming to a predetermined mold or persona that does not align with one's true self will fail to resonate with others. Jadyn introduces her new community, Solovation, which centers around building confidence and reconnecting with oneself.

I also share my own experience of resisting being labeled as the Enneagram girl, as I desired to bring a fresh perspective and be distinct. I emphasize that my uniqueness is what establishes my authority in the field. I urge you to embrace your own uniqueness and recognize that, as a creative individual, you will always offer a fresh perspective. Overall, this episode underscores the importance of embracing one's uniqueness and fearlessly standing out from the crowd.

This episode emphasizes the significance of sharing one's magic with the world and the belief that everyone possesses their own distinct magic, which should be shared and celebrated.

  • EP373: Enneagram 101 - Exploring the Underlying Emotions of Enneagram Centers of Intelligence
In this episode, I dive into understanding the Centers of Intelligence and how this is key to understanding oneself and others. These centers, including the gut or instinctual center, the heart or feeling center, and the head or thinking center, house the nine Enneagram types. Depending on an individual's core Enneagram type, they default to a specific center of intelligence. Recognizing which center someone operates from provides insights into their underlying emotions, motives, and fears.

For instance, the gut center (types 8, 9, and 1) is motivated by independence, autonomy, and control, with frustration or anger as their underlying emotion. The feeling center (types 2, 3, and 4) focuses on significance and self-image, with shame as their underlying emotion. The thinking center (types 5, 6, and 7) prioritizes safety and security, with fear or anxiety as their underlying emotion.

Understanding someone's center of intelligence enhances communication effectiveness in all areas of life. It fosters a better understanding of their motivations, fears, and emotional experiences, leading to greater empathy and connection. Additionally, comprehending one's own center of intelligence promotes self-awareness and personal growth.

By understanding these aspects of the Enneagram, individuals gain a more comprehensive understanding of themselves and others. This enables them to communicate more effectively, reduce judgment towards themselves and others, and navigate personal and professional lives with increased self-awareness and growth.

The feeling center includes types two, three, and four. These types are driven by their emotions and seek connection, validation, and personal significance. They are in touch with their feelings and are often sensitive to the emotions of others.

  • EP371: Enneagram 101 - Cracking the Enneagram Code - A trip thru the 3 Centers of Intelligence
In this episode, we explore the three centers of intelligence in the Enneagram: thinking, feeling, and instinctual. These centers group together different Enneagram types based on their primary drivers and motivations.

The thinking center encompasses types five, six, and seven. These types are primarily driven by their thoughts and have a strong desire for knowledge, understanding, and intellectual stimulation. They rely on logical reasoning and their minds when making decisions.

  • EP 370: The Enneagram Hotline - Stepping out of fear and going from worrier to warrior with SP Enneagram 6 Brandi Gilstrap
In this episode, I have my friend Brandi Gilstrap (SP Enneagram 6) as a guest. Brandi has had a lifetime of experience dealing with chaos, pain, hurt, and hiding behind it all. Her mission in this life is to help free people from the behaviors and habits that have kept them stuck and unfulfilled, to teach new behaviors of caring for yourself and to watch you grow into all you were born to be. Brandi and I discuss her experience of discovering her Enneagram type and what it meant for her. We explore the challenges of integrating this understanding into real-life situations, particularly in the corporate and business world. Brandi shares her personal journey of feeling seen and understood as an Enneagram 6 and navigating her relationship with her brother, who is an Enneagram 8.

We talk about how 6’s constantly seek out more tasks and responsibilities and that this constant busy-ness is driven by their stressor number. However, it is this constant doing that actually creates more chaos and doubt for sixes and their growth and development require them to slow down and not constantly seek out more tasks. Acknowledging that slowing down and not doing can be challenging for 6’ and we talk about the resistance to sitting in the discomfort of not having something to do.

It is so important to access your own soul and develop a deep level of self-awareness in order to truly integrate and make progress. No amount of strategy will be effective if you cannot access your own soul at the deepest level. The real work is slowing down and getting to know yourself, which involves awareness, acknowledgement, and compassionate action. This process of self-awareness and self-reflection is the foundation for integration.

  • EP369: Enneagram 101 - The symbol of change and evolution - Unlocking the Hexad - Embracing the twists and turns of life
In this episode, we are unlocking the Hexad in the Enneagram which represents the law of one and emphasizes the interconnectedness of all individuals.

The Hexad and the Law of Seven are concepts within the Enneagram that offer a unique perspective on the non-linear nature of life and help individuals embrace the twists and turns they encounter. Represented by a six-pointed line in the Enneagram diagram, the Hexad symbolizes the Law of Seven, challenging conventional thinking about linear progression and encouraging individuals to let go of rigid expectations.

Understanding the Hexad and the Law of Seven can provide insight into your life by recognizing that it often takes about seven questions to truly understand oneself or engage in meaningful conversations with others.

Rather than solely focusing on taking action and moving forward, the episode emphasizes the importance of embracing the middle part of the process, which involves self-reflection, awareness, and understanding. By acknowledging that personal growth is a multi-faceted and dynamic process, you can approach your own journey with patience, curiosity, and openness to unexpected twists and turns.
