May 16, 2025 Ep. 341 Being Given the Farm When All You Wanted Was Shed Hunting Permission with Ross Hausmann
Did the title catch you? Good, it should because it's the dead honest truth. This week's guest, Ross Hausmann, an avid deer hunter and conservationist joins me to discuss the incredible gift of an Iowa farm he and his wife received from someone he asked for permission to look for sheds. It's an incredible story that seems like it could be made into book, or at least a hit country song.

Other Topics We Discuss:
-Is it still good to be an Iowan?
-Recent deer history in Iowa
-How to find Arrowheads
-Using orchards in your land management plan
- Land management practices for the entire ecosystem

There are hunters and there are straight killas! The latter perfectly describes Heath Rayfield. No stranger to the First Gen Hunter Podcast, Heath joins Lance and Noel to talk a little turkey on this week’s installment of Strut Revival. Having been friends for years now, the guys and Heath discuss their connections, the ploy of the wild turkey, getting kids plugged into hunting, and a lot more. This is a good one!

May 04, 2025 Ep. 338 Strut Revival Part 6- Rick Taylor
Rick Taylor quickly went from a work relationship to a friend more like family for Lance and Noel in just a few short years. His passion for all things outdoors is obvious but his heart lies with the wild turkey. Listen in as we catch up on Rick’s season that includes recent escapades to Oklahoma and a special trip to Texas with his dad. We also glean some insight on trapping and the positive effects it has had on his farm for turkeys in two short years. We round things out with a special story about how he and his wife have a wonderful connection to the annual NWTF convention when it comes to their marriage!

April 30, 2025 Ep. 336 Backwoods Bulletin Podcast: Should we let the wildlife win more often?
Recently, I have been thinking more about the idea of going beyond fair chase and allowing the wildlife to win in some ways. An example might be limiting your harvest this season, or choosing a more difficult approach for yourself. In this episode we discuss this idea a little more and I hope it leaves you thinking about your next tag with some new perspective!
Have a blessed week!
