  • News from the future (ENG) - Co2 capture, lunar Noah's ark, immortal microbes, organ bioprinting, miracle sand
In this episode, I take you from the bottom of the oceans to the moon, with stories that are perhaps some of the best ever told at The Future Of:

(1). CO2 capture. How it works, how much, and what those who advocate actively removing carbon dioxide from the air hope to achieve.

(2). Lunar Noah's Ark. An American scientist plans a base on the moon to preserve traces of Earth's living things in case the planet is destroyed.

(3). Immortal microbes. A team of Japanese scientists drills the sea floor and discovers bacteria that are 100 million years old. And that's not the only surprise: they are alive.

(4). Organ bioprinting. From the University at Buffalo comes technology that prints organs in minutes. Where do we stand on 3D bioprinting?

(5). Miracle sand. Did you know we're "running out" of sand? I'll tell you how this isn't a joke, but a much underrated environmental issue.

    - Petroliere elettriche.

Genio o follia?

  • News from the future (ENG) - augmented humans, dogs cancer and AI, electric tankers, Ingenuity, Blockchain Town
The English version of the weekly episode of The Future Of.

One. Augmented humans, a nice little fairy tale we tell ourselves to avoid thinking about the long-term consequences of artificial intelligence.

Two. Dogs, cancer, and AI. That is, how an algorithm learns from the ability of dogs to recognize tumors, to bring this ability to our smartphones in the future.

Three. Electric tankers. No, that's not nonsense. A new generation of electric ships is hitting the market, though for now ironically they also serve to transport fossil fuels.

Four. Ingenuity. The small helicopter drone accompanying the Perseverance rover to Mars will revive the Wright brothers' dream, 120 years later and 200 million miles away.

Five. Blockchain Town. Continues the project of an American tycoon to build from scratch, in the desert, a city based on blockchain. Genius or madness?

  • News dal futuro - Ottavo continente, progetto Outpost, quantum computing as a service, AI liquida, grattacieli eolici, chipageddon

    - Grattacieli eolici. Ovvero come l’iconico Empire State Building e molti anni stanno passando all’eolico, ma non costava di più? Vi spiegherò il perché di questa scelta.

    - Scarseggiano i chip per i molti dispositivi elettronici grandi e piccoli. Perché? Cosa sta succedendo?
