That's the question posed to Wayne and Tracy after their recent podcast on The Precious Gift of Sex by the father of a gay daughter. What do people do who feel they do not fit into God's plan for sexuality? Wayne and Tracy sort through his thoughts and how hard it is to converse about something when what Scripture invites us to consider is different from what we might want to be true. They talk about religious shame and its inability to invite people to freedom, and that's God desires for us are not to squash our freedom but to learn what is best for us.

Our default for processing life is incredibly self-centric— thinking our way of looking at things is the only way to look at things. Arnita Taylor, one of Wayne's coauthors for A Language of Healing for a Polarized Nation once again joins Wayne for a conversation about the gift of being able to look at life and circumstances through the eyes of another person and getting a sense of what they are seeing and feeling. If we can play with that possibility, how much would it make us more compassionate and change the world we live in.

What they talk about today goes far beyond parenting and underlines the mistake that so many passionate Christians make, hoping that transformation is an event, not an ongoing conversation with God  through the mundane situations and relationships in our lives. Every restaurant has two or three crave items that are meant to make your mouth water whenever you think of it.  As A Language of Healing for a Polarized Nation launched in Los Angeles last weekend, coauthors Arnita and Bob were in town to record with Wayne the audio version of the book for release at the end of the year. They took a break from their recording to talk about people craving for a change in our national dialogue from animosity to greater mutual respect even in the face of different perspectives. While the book may be an easy read, living out its message will challenge you at every turn.

You might want to listen to it before your children overhear it.] Tracy Levinson, author of unashamed joins Wayne for a candid discussion about sex as only she can, spurred by emails we both received recently from different couples asking if they really needed to wait until marriage. Rather than the casual amusement, our society considers sex to be, the act itself bonds us to another person in a way that is so deeply precious, God designed it for the safety of a lifelong covenant relationship. That's the only place to protect our emotions and avoid the pain that casual sex offers. They also talk about masturbation, lust, and dealing with shame where we fall short of the life God invites us to experience.
