The Scapular Devotion

The Scapular is how to prepare us for a happy death .  This reliance on Mary's intercession for the gift of final perseverance derives historically from her promise to Saint Simon Stock that all who die wearing the scapular will not suffer the eternal flames of hell. This has since become known as the scapular promise.

Guest presenter today is Father Bill Kraft, the pastor of Holy Cross Parish in Linden, California.  He shares with us  his homily to his parish family reflecting on the  parable of the mustard seed that leads us to a further understanding of the gift of faith.  The Lord will allow the seed of faith to grow if we do what we're supposed to do, namely, stay present.

There is no upside to being a gossip. Gossips hurt neighbors, divide friends, and damage reputations and relationships. The Bible labels gossips as untrustworthy and meddlesome and even as worthy of death.  At your best in Christ, you don’t want to be one.  Today we can change our conversations to build up rather than tear down.
