It feels like to basic to call this a letter habit. Jenna unpacks how this habit has become about sowing seeds of love; a way to express "with-ness" when friends when she can't physically be with them.
It could feel easy to brush past the impact of this habit, but remember a large part of our Christian faith is built on a series of letters to believers. Don't underestimate the ripple effect of taking time to write your prayers or sow words of identity.
We don't want to ever be too busy to show up "as love" for those around and this is a simple act that can change your focus from hyper aware of your own world to be more others oriented.
Categories of letters to send:
- prayers for those going through hard seasons
- words of identity for those you notice "running their race well"
- gratitude for those who've impacted you or those in your sphere

In this episode Jenna talks about how asking the wrong question can get you skewed results with your habits.
She talks about how asking "Do I want to?" lends itself to a biased answers.
Instead it's more helpful when your motivation is low to ask:
It's not all or nothing when it comes to consistency, but if we keep asking the same question, we will keep getting the same answer. Change your question & you will change your answer.

These habits were formed when Jenna was in a tough financial season & realized she had a lot of triggers around receiving from people when they were in need. She is aware she will probably feel a lot of emotion initially but can process through quickly now that she acquainted with the pattern to arrive at being able to be grateful in real time instead of after the moment has passed. She shares a recent testimony where the Zints just had a large tax bill paid off- which is what initially inspired this episode when she felt all the habits she had built in this area, fire without a lot of effort on her end.
(yessss! love it when we do the work to emotionally heal & we feel the fruit of it!)

On this episode: Jenna talk about how Jesus served her with a Truth slap that challenged her to expand her Habits of Generosity beyond "just throwing money at it" like she had in the past.
Food for thought whether you're in a season of feast or faminie with your own budget....
Silver & Gold have I none...but I wonder what I do have to give to thee?
Bonus points if you say "thee" in a fabulously silly accent.
Let's be real, Jenna always gives bonus points for anytime someone whips out an accent. It's a rule of life.

Let's talk about adult birthdays!
Jenna talks about her past pain pattern around her birthday. She often opted to "skip it" but would feel some sadness that she made that choice or she would opt for a more passive approach hoping someone did something for her & then having some hurt when no one magically read her mind. haha- sorry, Aaron!
She thinks of the cost for her parties in categories as:
and tries to design a party with only one high cost from these 3 areas.
These are the 3 questions she asks herself to design her birthday. Every year looks different depending on her season, but she always constructs something small to feel surrounded by loved ones & celebrate the day she's born.
3 Questions to design your birthday:
1) What's the energy level/vibe I want for my party/activity this year?
2) What sounds life giving?
3) What activities would hit your answer from #2?
