Karen Atkins is a Brooklyn-born New Yorker turned Northern California girl. She spends her days practicing tai chi and qigong, writing and recording music, producing vitality lifestyle videos, creating educational alternative health programs, and taking walks in the foothills of Mt “Tam” as often as she can. But she wasn’t always the picture of health. In her early 20s, she felt so awful she couldn’t imagine ever being healthy and happy again. This week I can't wait for you to meet my friend, Anja Korber.

After playing in various European orchestras for several years, Anja Körber realized that the competitive and stressful life of a flautist was not for her. As a result, she changed direction, graduated as a primary school teacher in Germany and subsequently obtained the South African teaching diploma for High Schools. The core question during and beyond her years of teaching always remained the same: Why do some children thrive and excel and others do not? This question led her on a journey of continued learning in the fields of Brain Development, Primary Infant Reflex and Sensory Integration, Anatomy, and Craniosacral Therapy studies. Discovering there some of the root causes for many presumed “incurable” conditions such as ADHD, Autism, Developmental Delays, Anxiety and others only accelerated her search and empowered her on her own healing path. This week I invite you to a fascinating conversation with my friend, Karen De Wilde.

Karen is a musician, change maker and transformational guide who works from both the head and the heart. Several years ago, while stuck in a job that was sapping her energy, Karen was led on a search for her own destiny and life path, and ultimately discovered the wisdom of the Mayan Calendar. She now uses this tool to help clients reconnect to their own wisdom, and to the opportunity for healing and living to their fullest potential.

In this interview Karen surprised me by offering to read my own Mayan chart, which took us on an interesting journey that was as revelatory as it was profound. It even took me into a pretty far out memory from my childhood that virtually had me climbing my own tree, and gazing down from the treetop at all the abundance that is to be found in life.
