  • Hillary Changes Her Tune, Economists Finally Catch Up To Jason, Ebola Inconsistancy Continues
Once again, there’s no need to watch any other program. No need to go out there and waste your time with the mainstream media. All you have to do is watch this show because we’re going to tell you everything that you need to know and we’re going to tell you the inside story that nobody else is talking about. This morning, we got Hillary Clinton clarifying her comments. Apparently, the blowback from her comments about how businesses don’t create jobs was too severe. We’ve also got Britain is ending it’s combat mission in Afghanistan and there is a new poll out of what Brits think. And we have the young woman who’s returning home back in Maine after her ebola quarantine. -----If you would like to discuss anything with John about the show, email him at [email protected] can also use the hashtag #TheLiveShowFollow Jason on Twitter: www.Twitter.com/TheLiveShowTVFollow Us on Facebook: www.Facebook.com/TheLiveShowTV-----If you are really enjoying the show and would like to support what we're doing at The Live Show, please consider donating to our cause. The risk of you getting ebola are super low unless you happen to be in Sierra Leone as a medical worker dealing with people who are on their deathbed with ebola. Then your risk of contracting ebola is very high. What I find difficult to understand. By the CDC’s own projections they put out 2 weeks ago, they said that they estimate by January 2015 there will be a total of approximately 550,000 ebola cases. They’re the ones calling for saying that it’s a massive pandemic. But when we actually have people that are over there, that are of the highest risk cases, who end up coming back to the United States, they just simply say ‘don’t worry about it. If you get a fever, let us know’. And then when you call and you say you have a fever, they say ‘you can get on the plane anyway’. Is this not the most impudent organization on Earth?I’m starting to think that the CDC has no idea what they’re talking about. It was the CDC who said that they cannot confirm whether ebola was an airborne virus or not. They don’t know. They admit they don’t know. Yet they don’t think it’s necessary to quarantine people who are coming back from overseas. Now, don’t get me wrong, I have a great deal of respect for doctors who are willing to go over to third world countries in order to try and help those places who have the least amount of medical care possible. But think about what America is asking of you when you’re coming back. You’re willing to go to Sierra Leone. You’re willing to work with one of the most deadliest diseases that we know of right now. You’re willing to help people and save lives with that terrible disease. You’re putting your life on the line to go over there. And yet, when you come back, it’s somehow a violation of your liberty to be in a quarantine? You made the choice to go over there, we all appreciate the fact that you went over there and I’m sure there are people who didn’t die because you were there. But now that you’re back here, there is a responsibility and you have a responsibility to the people in this country that you wait out the quarantine period to make sure that you’re not sick. Nobody knows what’s really going onFirst it was global warming. Then they realized it was getting colder. Now it’s climate change because who can argue against that the climate is changing? Al Gore said we weren’t going to have any polar ice caps anymore. They were going to be all gone by today. And we find out that no, they’ve actually doubled in size, that they’re growing. This goes along the same lines with the CDC and this ebola scare. I believe wholeheartedly that it is nothing more than an attempt to control you. An attempt to gain power from the people by scaring them with all of these ideas. And global warming is just another one of those ideas. The surest way to get yourself in a panic is to listen to what the government tells you because they are virtually always wrong. They’re almost never right. What frustrates me is that nobody looks at the outcomes of their principles and the outcome of their claims. And the reason that they become overly excited about these things is because if they didn’t and there was a real pandemic, well then they get blamed. But if they go way overboard on it, like tell us that a million people are going to die, well then all of a sudden, when only ten thousand people die, well then they say they took all this action and did something about it. Hillary Clinton is in a lot of trouble. She’s had to backpedal big time. This is so typical of politicians to do things like this, to say things so utterly ridiculous. What’s funny is, I’m fairly certain that this was scripted, that she was reading from a prepared speech to this group of supporters when she said these things. If you haven’t heard about this, basically, yesterday she made this comment.“Don’t let anybody tell you that it’s corporations and businesses that create jobs. You know that old theory, trickle-down economics. That has been tried; that has failed. It has failed rather spectacularly.” - Hillary Clinton Well, in response to that, she had to come out and clarify her statement today. Hillary Clinton clarifies comments on job creationhttp://onpolitics.usatoday.com/2014/10/27/hillary-clinton-businesses-job-creation/So-called trickle-down economics has failed. I shorthanded this point the other day, so let me be absolutely clear about what I’ve been saying for a couple of decades: Our economy grows when businesses and entrepreneurs create good-paying jobs here in an America where workers and families are empowered to build from the bottom up and the middle out — not when we hand out tax breaks for corporations that outsource jobs or stash their profits overseas. This is not a clarification. This is what we call a total reversal. A contradiction. On yesterday’s show, I explained that trickle down economics is not a real economic theory. What it is is it’s a way liberals have been explaining a principle about economics that the do not understand. Hillary Clinton has absolutely no idea what she’s talking about on an economic scale. If you ask her what trickle down economics is, she will tell you it’s when you give money to the rich in form of tax breaks in hopes that then the money will trickle down to the little guy. And we went to great efforts yesterday to explain that that is not how free market capitalism works. When you reduce taxes on people who save and invests, that investment dollars that is made first goes to the worker. You can go back and watch yesterday’s episode as well as read the show notes for the complete analysis. It’s pretty simple. If you give tax breaks, you give tax breaks across the board to everyone in every sector. You equally disperse those tax cuts because, here’s the thing, a subsidy is something that a company gets that another company doesn’t get. So, it is the government picking who is going to get capital and who isn’t in the form of tax refunds, grants, or whatever it may be. We, as libertarians, believe if you are going to give tax relief or tax benefits or tax reductions, you do that equally across the board. If you’re going to raise taxes, you’re going to do it equally across the board to all companies in all sectors, giving them more capital with which to invest with and you allow those businesses to stand on their own merit without subsidy, without special hand outs.Unfortunately, Hillary Clinton does not understand even the basics of all this. She goes on to talk about more hot button issues that liberals hate, which is this idea of tax breaks of corporations who outsource jobs. So let me just put that issue to rest as well. There is not a single company in the United States that’s given a tax cut to send their jobs overseas, nor are they given tax cuts to keep capital overseas. What happens is companies can get better tax rates and cheaper labor overseas than they can get it over here. Why can they get that? For one, standard of living is higher here. Low wage workers, there’s a floor on where you can pay low wage workers so the minimum wage hampers their ability to stay here in the United States. And the overall tax burden on them is lower so you see many companies looking at it and they say ‘look, it’s cheaper for me to uproot my entire company, move it overseas, then ship the goods and services back to the United States, and sell them here. I can actually make more money doing that’.And, as I stated yesterday, ladies and gentlemen, instead of trying to fix the problem of an undue tax burden on individuals who create jobs by Hillary Clinton’s own admission and we need to fix that so more companies will want to come here to work so we create an environment here that will increase GDP, that will increase growth, instead, what do they do?Instead, they want to put into place laws that prevent people from moving overseas, to prevent people from leaving this country. We need to put a fence around America. When that is the situation that you are faced with, you’re wrong. You’re making terrible mistakes and something has to change. But I guess some people were listening to this show and this is why you don’t have to listen to anybody else. You don’t have to go anywhere else for your news. You just have to watch this show. Because, as I said yesterday, if you want the clearest indication of what creates wealth inequality, all you have to do is look at the principles that liberals promote: deficit spending, money to the banks, all of these things. Draghi May Help Europe’s Rich Get Richerhttp://www.businessweek.com/news/2014-10-27/draghi-may-help-europe-s-rich-get-richerEuropean Central Bank President Mario Draghi, fighting a deflation threat in the euro region, may need to confront a concern more familiar to Americans: income inequality. With interest rates almost at zero, Draghi is moving into asset purchases to lift inflation to the ECB’s target. The more he nears the kind of tools deployed by the Federal Reserve, the Bank of England and the Bank of Japan, the more he risks making the rich richer, said economists including Nobel laureate Joseph Stiglitz, chief economist for the World Bank from 1997 to 2000.In the U.S., the gap is rising between the incomes of the wealthy, whose financial holdings become more valuable via central bank purchases, and the poor. While monetary authorities’ foray into bond-buying is intended to stabilize economic conditions and underpin a real recovery, policy makers and economists are increasingly asking whether one cost may be wider income gaps -- in Europe as well as the U.S. Basic Economics: A Common Sense Guide to the Economyhttp://amzn.com/0465022529A must read to educate and empower you to understand the basic tenets of economics. Stealthy Norwegian entrepreneur aims to revolutionize U.S. energy storagehttp://www.reuters.com/article/2014/10/27/us-energy-storage-eikeland-idUSKBN0IG29T20141027Jostein Eikeland, a Norwegian entrepreneur with a mixed record of success, is hoping to jolt the world of energy storage. On Tuesday, Eikeland's latest venture, Alevo, will unveil a battery that he says will last longer and ultimately cost far less than rival technologies. The technology, which is meant to store excess electricity generated by power plants, has been developed by Eikeland in secret for a decade. Alevo's approach stands in stark contrast to the public announcement last month of Tesla Motors Inc's planned $5 billion factory in Nevada, which will make batteries for electric cars. Tesla says its plant will employ 6,500 people by 2020. It will receive more than $1 billion of state incentives."Building a $1 billion facility in stealth mode is definitely unusual," said Dan Reicher, executive director of the Steyer-Taylor Center for Energy Policy and Finance at Stanford University. Reicher, a former green technology investor, said he was not familiar with Alevo or its technology.State and county officials in North Carolina confirmed that Alevo has not sought any business incentives. One of the most interesting pieces of this article is that apparently he has taken no federal money for it. Amazing. You mean, you have an entrepreneur out there with an idea?Who risked his own money and his own capital on the line to try to create something? And he didn't need a government grant to do it?He didn't need the support of the public sector? He didn't need tax money to achieve his goal? No. Eikeland, 46, said Alevo, named for the inventor of the battery, Alessandro Volta, has $1 billion from anonymous Swiss investors and has taken no state funding or incentives.Alternately brash and self-deprecating, Eikeland did not shy away from discussing his up-and-down past. He founded software company TeleComputing Inc during the dot-com boom, helped take it public on the Oslo stock exchange, then left in 2002 after the tech bubble burst. He later invested heavily in and took the helm of Sweden-based auto parts manufacturer, TMG International, which went bankrupt in 2008. Broke, he was forced to sell his lavish homes to pay his taxes, according to media reports that were confirmed by representatives for Alevo. After TMG, Eikeland spent a few years investing in software and battery technologies, many of which he admits failed."I know how hard it is to lose eight of your 10 fingers," he said. "I wish I had somebody else to blame."Ladies and gentlemen, this is the true entrepreneur. This is what entrepreneurs really go through. It's not a situation where suddenly they make all kinds of money and they're rich forever now, and their constantly exploiting people. No, what is he doing? He made a lot of money during the tech boom. He took that money, he tried to invest it in other places and he failed. He failed again, and again, and again. He went broke. He had to sell his lifestyle, sell his home to pay his taxes. And then he goes right back at it again. That's what producers do. And this is the misunderstanding that I want to get across to you about the difference between producers and workers. The progressives, the Democrats, would have you believe that it is the worker that is the producer.Unfortunately, that just isn't the case. If you're a worker, you're labor. The producer is the guy that can create regardless whether you are there or not.The employees are there to create economies of scale. The real producer is the guy who creates the widget. The guy who puts it together. The guy who took the idea and turned it into reality. And if all of the workers were gone, the producer would still be able to make a living because he could still churn out the widgets on his own. This is the difference. This is the guy that invests, who risks his life's savings.Support the show.

  • Hillary Clinton Slams Business Owners, France hits record breaker, Citizens flee U.S.
Hello, welcome back ladies and gentlemen!Rarely do I ever have, during a day of broadcasting, a better opportunity to clearly contrast progressive ideology and free market, freedom based ideology, and the economic principles and outcomes it creates. As you know, on this show, our main goal is to inspire and to educate, and to entertain, on the principles of economics, of free markets, on capitalism, and on freedom and liberty. In the stack today, we’re going to talk about socialism and it’s effects here.Hillary Clinton, most recently, said some things at a recent fundraiser about businesses and creating jobs. More, from the party of ‘you didn’t build that’ coming out of Hillary Clinton. Apparently, hundreds of people, if not thousands of people over the last several years, are giving up their U.S. citizenship. They’re just giving it up and moving away so we’re going to talk about why that is as well as the principles that we are adhering to right now that’s causing to flood out what is still in my opinion one of the greatest countries on Earth, one of the freest and most successful countries on Earth. Why are people leaving? French unemployment: I know it’s rare to talk about French unemployment here on this show that’s basically has an American audience. But it’s important because French unemployment is skyrocketing. It’s at all time highs. And the question is why? What’s happening over there? What’s causing unemployment rising so high? Youth unemployment in France is 50%. Half of youth in France who are looking for work can’t find a job. And we’re going to discuss why that is, what people need to do and what changes need to happen in France in order to put it back together. Then, we’ve got some other stuff in the stack. One of the surest ways to ensure your untimely death is to call the suicide prevention hotline and tell them that you’re suicidal.Man in Roy, Utah placed a call to a suicide prevention hotline at 4am Tuesday morning threatening to kill himself. Several hours later, he was shot and killed by police. So, if we have time we’ll get to that. And somebody else made that happen, someone else helped them along the way. The general premise his argument is this old argument that we’re all in this together, that no single man creates an industry on his own. No he doesn’t, it always requires cooperation. But, the Democrat Party is the party of ‘it takes a village’ and they think that that’s at odds with libertarian beliefs. It’s not. No one thinks that a man gets to where he is on his own. It’s only through cooperation and, what we would say, free cooperation between people that things happen. What progressives will have you believe is that the government is responsible for the success or failure of a nation. And, that is true in the sense that the laws and mandates that it puts into place will either hamper or support the free market system. But it is not the government controls, it is not the government deciding on one hand or the other who will win or lose that ultimately determines whether or not a country is going to be successful, of whether it is adhering to these principles of free market and liberty.Hillary Clinton says,“Don’t let anybody tell you that it's corporations and businesses that create jobs. You know that old theory, trickle-down economics. That has been tried; that has failed. It has failed rather spectacularly.”And, let me break this down here.Number one, I’m going to show case possible Presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, her stupidity as is most of the people in Washington are in their understanding of basic tenets of economics. The second thing that I am going to do is destroy this concept of trickle down economics.Hillary starts out by attacking who creates jobs. Now, she doesn’t say who actually creates jobs but the inference is if companies and corporates don’t create jobs then government must create jobs, the hirer of last resort. The second thing that she does is she tries to attach this idea of who creates jobs to the ideas of trickle down economics. Now, I would submit, she’s right in the sense that companies do not create jobs. A company is nothing more than a physical structure. A company can no more create jobs than a rock can create jobs. People create jobs. People who start companies. People who work at companies. People who make decisions inside of companies creates jobs.A corporation is nothing more than a collection of shareholders or individuals who run the company. A corporate is a box, it’s brick and mortar, it’s plaster. So you have to understand that when you are talking about a corporation, you are talking about individuals making decisions that either grow a company or destroy a company. But if a corporate does not create jobs then who does?Well, the people inside of that company do.And she talks about trickle down economics and tries to connect the fact that this theory that money will flow from the top down to the bottom. What progressives are attempting to suggest is that if you pump money directly into the poorest of people, that will in fact raise everyone up out of poverty, that the poor will have more money which means the middle class will have more money, which means they will spend money, which means that those who are at the top will get a portion of that wealth. Here’s the problem: there is no such thing as trickle down economics. This is not an economic principle. No economist in history has ever discussed or promoted a theory of trickle down economics. The word was created by progressives in an attempt to explain a economic principle that they did not understand. So, if trickle down economics is not a real thing, what is the missed understanding?Well, the misunderstanding is this. The progressives believe that free market economics requires that you pump money directly, you give money through subsidies or tax rebates to the richest people in the world and that somehow sparks growth and it will trickle down to those at the lowest level of society. And that’s why they always try to classify tax cuts for the rich as being trickle down economics. The issue is they are wildly inaccurate in what tax cuts do. Milton Friedman talks about this. What do rich people do with their money? They invest it. What do they invest it in? In companies and in stocks, which turn around and do what? They invest it in growth of their company. You see, capital investment is the key to growth. If you want a country to grow, if you want companies to grow, you have to invest in that company. Now, that can be done by the owner investing with his own capital or by going to Wall Street and saying to people ‘come invest in my company.’But what they don’t understand is when you invest in a company, the first dollars that get invested end up going to other people, not to the top 1%. They go to the workforce, they go to the contractors, they go to the research and development that goes on inside the company. It’s only after when those principles, those ideas are put to test in the free market do they see the potential for wealth coming back the other direction. What progressives fail to understand is that those people who save and invest who actually creates jobs, who actually grows the economy. It is not the fact that people at the bottom spend money. It’s the fact that people at the top, people who have money to invest and risk are willing to invest that capital. And the less capital they have to risk, the more difficult they make the process, the harder that it is going to be for an economy to grow. To illustrate my point, I want to read from Thomas Sowell. He’s so good, unlike other economists, what Thomas does is he explains the economic principles that perform best, that do the most to create the most amount of freedom and liberty for all people. He explains it in a way that every single person in America and around the world can understand. And what we’re really talking about here when we talk about corporations not creating jobs, trickle down economics is they are railing against tax cuts for corporations, tax cuts for ‘the rich’.Here’s a quote from Thomas Sowell:The “Trickle Down” Economics Straw Manhttp://capitalismmagazine.com/2001/09/the-trickle-down-economics-straw-man/The real effect of a reduction in the capital gains tax rate is that it opens the prospect — only the prospect — of greater future net profits. But that is enough to provide incentives for making current investments. Those who imagine that profits first benefit business owners — and that benefits only belatedly trickle down to workers — have the sequence completely backward. When an investment is made, whether to build a railroad or to open a new restaurant, the first money is spent hiring people to do the work. Without that, nothing happens.Money goes out first to pay expenses first and then comes back as profits later — if at all. The high rate of failure of new businesses makes painfully clear that there is nothing inevitable about the money coming back.Even with successful businesses, years can elapse between the initial investment and the return of earnings. From the time when an oil company begins spending money to explore for petroleum to the time when the first gasoline resulting from that exploration comes out of a pump at a filling station, a decade may have passed. You see, when you cut taxes on ‘the rich’, when you cut taxes on the investments people make, what you are doing is you are opening up the prospect and only the prospect of greater future net profits. And that investment that is made first goes not to the pockets of the rich and powerful, but to the worker. If you want the clearest demonstration of true trickle down economics, you need to only look as far as the recent actions taken by the Federal Reserve. One that economists like Paul Krugman, politicians like Hillary Clinton and President Obama support. And it is the idea of directly funneling money, pumping money into the economy. John Maynard Keynes is an economist who believed in the theory of deficit spending. There is absolutely a benefit to government spending during a recession. And what the Keynesians want is when the economy begins to slow down, that the Federal Reserve and the Federal government should step in and print whatever money is necessary and pump that money directly into the economy in order to stimulate to keep the economy afloat. And then as the economy comes roaring back, they suck that money out through higher taxes and through higher interest rates. Although the theory is sound, the problem is, in reality what ends up happening? What ends up happening is, we end up spending money during the deficit period and then as the market comes roaring back, nobody wants to raise taxes. No politician wants to claw that money back by raising taxes or increasing interest rates. So what we get is a constant steady increase in the dollars in circulation, in the debt the country incurs, and an increase in regulation, which is not what Keynes espoused. But the clearest form of what trickle down economics is if you look at the current spending. What they did is they injected capital directly into the economy and who did they give it to? They did that through offering 0% interest rates to the banks. The banks then reconstituted their balance sheets, they ended up loaning out that money to large corporations who they had almost no chance of losing money on at very high margins so the banks start to see record profits coming in.Now, try to get a loan for a home or a small business. Those loans are extremely hard to come by.Why? Because interest rates are so low. Nobody wants to loan out money to a small business where the risk is high and the return on investment is low. They would much rather hold that money on reserve now that they’ve reconstituted their balance sheets and loan it out as interest rates increase or they want to put their money into large corporations that have a very low chance of defaulting on the debt. And, as we see, that form of direct trickle down economics, if you want to use the term in the progressive philosophy of how we ought to be spending money, what do we see?  Who gets hurt? The people that get hurt are the people at the bottom. What do we see? The greatest wealth disparity in history in the United States exists now. Why? It’s because of the very principles that the Federal Reserve and our government are promoting. That’s what’s causing this wild disparity in wealth. It has nothing to do with tax cuts for the rich. It has to do with the economic policy of progressives in Washington and a Federal Reserve that’s taking the approach of stimulating, providing assets and resources, to the richest in the United States to the detriment of the poorest.True trickle down economics is practiced by progressives, not by conservatives, certainly not by free market capitalists. We live in a society now where you are not restricted by the country that you live in, where corporations are not restricted, where individuals are not restricted. You can live, work, start a company anywhere in the world. This is how bad it’s gotten that our government is starting to create policies to keep people in. Tax policies that force companies and prevent companies from going overseas, forcing them to stay inside the country so that they can collect the tax dollars. These are the policies that we are now seeing in America. This is how our government attempts to fix the economic issues that we’re faced with. And what do you see? You see 9,000 Americans over the past 5 years have turned in their passport. 2,300 people in this year alone. Hundreds Give Up U.S. Passports After New Tax Rules Starthttp://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-10-25/hundreds-give-up-u-s-passports-after-new-tax-rules-start.htmlThe number of Americans renouncing U.S. citizenship increased 39 percent in the three months through September after rules that make it harder to hide assets from tax authorities came into force.People giving up their nationality at U.S. embassies increased to 776 in the third quarter, from 560 in the year-earlier period, according to Federal Register data published yesterday.Tougher asset-disclosure rules that started July 1 under the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act, or Fatca, prompted more of the estimated 6 million Americans living overseas to give up their passports. The appeal of U.S. citizenship for expatriates faded further as more than 100 Swiss banks began to turn over data on American clients to avoid prosecution for helping tax evaders. The U.S., the only Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development nation that taxes citizens wherever they reside, stepped up the search for tax dodgers after UBS AG (UBSN) paid a $780 million penalty in 2009 and handed over data on about 4,700 accounts. Shunned by Swiss and German banks and with Fatca starting, more than 9,000 Americans living overseas gave up their passports over the past five years. What does this tell us? What this tells us is that people will find a way. That you cannot legislate control over the free market. That if you do so, people will start to change their habits. Also, companies, as we’ve said before they’re nothing more than groups of people, will find a way.If you tell a company, look, you cannot incorporate overseas, guess what they say? They’ll say, that’s fine. They’ll create a company overseas, that company will buy all of the assets from company A and now it will become an overseas company. Now, we will lose all tax revenues just like we’re losing the tax revenues of those 9,000 individuals, high net worth folks, who have just decided to say ‘I’m done’. Now, I don’t care if you agree with that or not. You can call them tax dodgers or un-American. It doesn’t matter. The point is the money is gone. Those are producers. They are people that create wealth who are saying it’s so bad in America that I am willing to give up my American citizenship. Can you imagine someone in 1950 saying that?It is so bad here that I would rather be a man without a country. Or I would rather go live in Switzerland than be an American. We have got to change. Now, if you want to see what it looks like, if you want to see where we’re going, and what these policies actually look like when they’re fully implemented, you need to look at France. French unemployment hits new record highhttp://www.france24.com/en/20141024-france-unemployment-rises-new-record-high/Data from France’s labor ministry showed unemployment rose by 0.6 percent last month, after the modest 0.3 rise it experienced in August.“Let’s be honest, we are failing,” French Labor Minister François Rebsamen told Le Parisien newspaper on Friday in an unusually candid acknowledgement of France's massive unemployment problem. We can look at France right now at this very moment and we can see the outcome of the policies that we are now implementing in the United States. We can see where we're going. The belief system that President Obama, Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton, that the entire progressive party in America, the Democrat Party supports, is one of rampant unemployment, massive problems with youth unemployment, which is what we're seeing right now. The largest youth unemployment in history. More people on food stamps, unemployment insurance, than ever in history. This is not because there was a great stock market collapse or a housing implosion. It's been nearly 8 years. It has absolutely nothing to do with that. It has to do now with the policies that are in place that are causing those problems and the perpetuation of this cycle. Man calls suicide prevention hotline, SWAT team shows up and kills himhttp://axisoflogic.com/artman/publish/Article_67905.shtmlA Roy, Utah man, Jose Calzada, 35, placed a call to a suicide prevention hotline at 4:00 a.m. Tuesday morning and threatened to kill himself, seven hour later he was shot and killed by police, according to law enforcement.According to ABC 4, neighbors described Calzada as a quiet, friendly man, who was divorced and now lived in the home with his girlfriend and her children. The first tragic mistake in this case was made when the Weber County Consolidated Dispatch Center sent officers to the residence rather than some type of crisis response team trained to deal with suicidal individuals. From previous cases, such as that of Jason Turk, who was shot twice in the face after a suicide call to 9-1-1 by his wife, or that of Christian Alberto Sierra, who was suffering from depression and had attempted suicide when police showed up and shot him four times, killing him, most know all too well what happens when you send officers to “assist” people threatening suicide.Subsequently, a SWAT team came to the residence and “negotiated” with Calzada for more than seven hours before taking his life.“At some point those negotiations failed and unfortunately the SWAT team was involved in a shooting, and the subject is now deceased,” said Roy PD spokesman Matt Gwynn.Support the show.

  • Christians Under Attack Again, PLUS Anderson Cooper is Awesome
Is the world burning down around me? I’m looking across the news today, I’ve got people chasing down cops with hatchets, I’ve got new ebola scares, I’ve got British governments attacking Christian schools for not having imams teaching lessons.Have we all gotten stupid? We got some interesting stuff. Anderson Cooper, poor Anderson, some idiot in Canada wanted a selfie with him at the murder site of the soldier that was killed by the terrorist. We’ll get to that in a minute. All that and a lot more on today’s show. Welcome to The Live Show. My name is Jason Stapleton. If you want to be part of the show, you can email [email protected] play again tonight in San Francisco. We’re going to hopefully have another great day. Game kicks off at around 7pm. It seems to me as though, everywhere I’m looking now, I pay pretty close attention to the news and there’s been some very unfortunate things that I’m seeing. And I don’t want to get on this bandwagon about government intrusion and be one of those people. There are some serious issues that are happening here in the United States.I got two stories here: one out of Great Britain and one out of the U.S. where you have governments that are basically punishing schools for practicing their Christian beliefs and their value system. They’re doing it in the United Kingdom under the guise of tolerance and individual liberty. And somebody in Great Britain needs to explain to those in their government what exactly individual liberty is because I don’t think any of them understand it.And, then you’ve got the stock market is looking like it might be down again today. Dow futures pointing down 11 because of an apparent ebola scare. I don’t know what else it could be.Now, we’ve got a guy in New York back from Guinea who tested positive for the ebola virus. If you notice, the people that are getting ebola are coming from outside the United States who contracted it or people who worked closely with someone who is being treated for ebola in the late stages. Now this, of course, holds true to what we believe and what we understand about ebola is that it is not highly contagious until the very late stages.Yesterday, we talked about the shooting that happened in Canada, with a terrorist on the loose. Let me define terrorism for you because people are trying to say that it wasn’t terrorism, that it was an isolated incident.Again, it’s either people who don’t really understand what terrorism is or people who are just trying to water down the fact that this was a Muslim extremist who ended up going and shooting soldiers at a memorial and then going on to a government building and shooting up that place as well.A terrorist is someone who performs a terrorist action in order to influence the political and cultural decisions of the governments in that area. So, I don’t care if this guy is attached to a larger cell and there’s evidence that he was, that his dad use to fight in the revolution against Muammar Gaddafi before he came to Canada. And so there’s all kinds of evidence that this guy is tied directly back to the same militant fighters who ultimate established a stronghold in Iraq and Syria. But let’s leave all of that aside. Let’s say he was just some nut job out there who took a little too seriously the good book written by Mr. Muhammad. And he just decided that he was going to start killing people. That is a terrorist act. He did it for no other reason than to terrorize. He was trying to create fear and panic in society. That’s terrorism no matter how you look at it.And, we talked about it yesterday on the show. Wouldn’t you know it, of course there’s a lot of press and stuff down there, and Anderson Cooper was down there doing a report on the event. And a young aspiring journalist from the Sun News, Vandon Gene, ends up asking Anderson Cooper for a selfie. Reporter’s ‘Completely Inappropriate’ Request Leaves Anderson Cooper Stunned: ‘I Can’t Believe Any Station Employs You’http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014/10/22/reporters-completely-inappropriate-request-leaves-anderson-cooper-stunned-i-cant-believe-any-station-employs-you/Anderson Cooper tweeted out scathing criticism of a reporter Wednesday night after the journalist asked for a photograph at the same site a Canadian soldier was killed hours earlier.Video of the incident showed Cooper tell “aspiring journalist” and Sun News contributor Vandon Gene that the request was “wildly inappropriate.”Gene initially uploaded the footage and then turned to Twitter to skewer Cooper.Cooper was not afraid to fire back on Twitter, reiterating that he found his request “completely inappropriate” and even said it surprised him anyone would hire him as a reporter.Anderson Cooper responded that he was not going to take a picture with him near where someone just died. And the reporter gets pissed, he really gets angry at Anderson Cooper for not being willing to take a selfie with him near the recent and tragic death site of this soldier who was murdered. He ends up sending out some tweets going after Anderson. Anderson’s response to Vandon Gene is classic. Kudos to Anderson Cooper for doing the right thing. A bystander was wounded in the gunfire. The deceased suspect has been identified in multiple reports as 32-year-old Zale Thompson, an apparent Muslim who lived in Queens. At a news conference at a hospital where one officer was being treated for a serious head wound, Police Commissioner William Bratton said that investigators were still trying to determine a motive. New York police officer critically wounded in hatchet attackhttp://www.reuters.com/article/2014/10/24/us-usa-newyork-hatchet-idUSKCN0IC2RG20141024A hatchet-wielding attacker charged a group of New York City police officers posing for a photograph on Thursday, wounded two, one critically, before the assailant was shot dead, police said. The officers were on foot patrol when they were asked by a freelance photographer to pose for a picture on a Queens street at about 2 p.m., a New York Police Department spokesman said.Suddenly a man carrying a hatchet charged the officers, swinging it and striking one officer in the right arm and then swinging it again and striking a second officer in the head, the spokesman said. The remaining two officers fired their weapons at the man, hitting him. The suspect, whose identity was not yet confirmed but who was said to be approximately 32 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene. What are we coming to? New York City, here’s the thing: you can’t own a gun in New York City. You really can’t. To get a concealed carry permit, to get a weapon into New York City is extremely difficult. Huge gun laws preventing that and so what happens? This guy has a hatchet. And he just comes at officers with a hatchet, critically wounding one of them before they finally get their guns out and shoot him.We could make this about gun crime. The thing is, removing guns don’t stop crime. All it does is prevents honest people from protecting themselves. This time, the cops were caught off guard by a hatchet wheeling man who apparently is upset at White people, who made hateful remarks on YouTube. And we talked about this on the show yesterday during the Michael Brown incident. I said, guys, there is likely legitimacy to the argument, there is police brutality that happens all the time. There are cops who create wild injustices in America all the time. But go after them. Go find those actual cases. Don’t spend your time on the Michael Brown thing because Michael Brown was not a good guy. He was not a good person. He was a criminal. He attacked a police officer and he was shot dead for it. That’s not the guy you want to hitch your cause to. You find somebody else. Most recently, we found this today. There was a situation where, we don’t know what happened before but, there is a cop and a suspect wrestling and they’re kind of rolling around, where it looks as though the police officer is trying to arrest this individual and then this individual is resisting. NYPD cop kicks fellow officer in the head during arrest - thinking he is the suspecthttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2806101/The-moment-NYPD-cop-kicks-fellow-officer-head-arrest-thinking-suspect.htmlThis is the moment an undercover cop kicked a fellow officer in the back of the head after apparently mistaking him for a suspect.Video footage from DNAinfo New York shows the plain-clothed NYPD officer rush to the aid of a uniformed colleague, who was wrestling a suspect with the help of another undercover officer. But the officer, who is seen wearing a grey jumper and jeans, immediately kicks the undercover cop in the back of the head after joining the struggle at Coney Island's Stillwell Avenue station. Here’s the thing: the difference between this situation and the Michael Brown situation is that this officer is going to lose likely his badge. They’re talking about firing this officer and rightly so. The guy came in, had no idea what was going on, ended up first kicking another officer in the back of the head, and then later punching the suspect in the nose.I will tell you right now, there is some justification for him hitting the suspect because if the suspect was tangled up with the officer and was not complying with the officer’s orders to give then he does have the ability to use physical force in order to move him.But that’s the kind of thing that you can take out. You can say ‘look at what this cop did, this guy ought to be punished and this is evidence of a system problem inside the police force.’ Now, whether or not that’s true, it’s very difficult to prove but certainly this is a much better case for you to protest against. But not the Michael Brown case.I want to switch over and talk about what’s happening in the school system and really in government. And I’m going to use something that’s going on in the U.K. and tie that to a battle a church in California is having. Christian school 'downgraded for failing to invite an imam to lead assembly'http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/religion/11173102/Christian-school-downgraded-for-failing-to-invite-an-imam-to-lead-assembly.htmlA successful Christian school has been warned it is to be downgraded by inspectors and could even face closure after failing to invite a leader from another religion, such as an imam, to lead assemblies, it is claimed. The small independent school in the Home Counties was told it is in breach of new rules intended to promote “British values” such as individual liberty and tolerance in the wake of the Trojan Horse scandal, involving infiltration by hard-line Muslim groups in Birmingham. So you have a Christian school in the United Kingdom that’s been downgraded by the government and they’re facing potential closure because the Christian school will not bring in Imams or some other religious group to lead assemblies.Let me set this up for you. The Trojan Horse Scandal was a situation where some Muslim based schools were used as breeding grounds to spread hate and discontent. There is evidence that they were attempting to get rid of all non-muslim staff in order to teach radical ideas to children. And the British government was upset about this so they put together a law that says you have to provide a well balanced education. Inspectors are going around schools now say that they will consider the effectiveness of a school’s provision for a pupil’s spiritual, moral, social, cultural development and how the schools leadership and management ensures that the curriculum’s activities promote British values. Now, ladies and gentlemen, I want to explain to you a very simple principle that is overlooked. There is no such thing as British values. There is no such thing as American values or French values. There are only individual values. And individual values vary from person to person, from household to household, across the country. So the very idea that you are going to create a law that focuses on promoting British values is to suggest that individual values have no place and that there is some sort of collective value system across the whole of Britain. And that simply can’t be true. That’s the first thing that we really need to understand. The second thing is this law is designed to promote individual liberty. But if the government is placing laws on people preventing them from the free practice of their own religion and choosing how they are going to educate children seems to me a violation of liberty, not a support of.The most troubling piece of this is the tolerance piece. This idea of tolerance on an international scale has become one that says you have to be accepting of everyone’s religion, you don’t have a choice. Tolerance means total acceptance, allowing all people special privileges, forcing people to accept your way of life. That is not tolerance.True tolerance is you believe what you believe, I believe what I believe. We may very well disagree but as long as you stay on your side and you don’t infringe on my right to practice what I believe, I will not infringe on your right to practice what you believe. For example, the gay marriage topic we talked about yesterday where this gay couple walk into a chapel and says we’d like you to marry us. And the individual says I’m sorry that goes against our religion and our faith so we simply can’t do that for you. I’m not going to perform this ceremony. Well, under this new concept of tolerance, somehow this pastor ought to be forced to provide chapel services to this gay couple, even if it goes against what he believes. So it’s okay if it infringes on his individual liberty, on his individual right as long as it’s tolerant of someone else’s opinion. Where is the tolerance of this pastor? Where is the tolerance for this school? Churches in California Battle State Gov’t After Being Forced to Cover ‘Elective Abortion’http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014/10/23/look-closely-at-these-govt-letters-the-elective-abortion-mandate-could-have-major-implications-for-california-churches/A recent regulatory change in California now requires all employer health plans in the state — including those offered by churches and faith-based organizations — to cover elective abortions, according to a conservative legal firm.Casey Mattox, senior counsel at Alliance Defending Freedom, told TheBlaze Thursday that the regulatory amendment requiring abortion coverage was made by California’s Department of Managed Health Care. The abortion policy immediately took effect August 22, with the government giving 90 additional days for the language in health care plans to officially change, according to state documents.Mattox explained this week in a story for The Federalist that the change resulted from “the insistence of the American Civil Liberties Union,” with California officials subsequently deciding that elective abortion now falls under “basic health services” in the state. But Mattox told TheBlaze that this regulatory situation is curious, as churches are now exempt from providing contraception, but not abortion.“Churches are exempt from both state and federal … mandates,” he said. “They don’t have to provide contraception, but they have to provide abortion.”Support the show.

  • Why Ferguson Protesters Should Stop Protesting
I'm chomping at the bit today! Ladies and gentlemen, I cannot wait to get the show started because we are jam packed full of news today. One of the best things that happened was the Royals won 7 - 2 over the Giants last night. Complete and total turnaround from game one! We looked sharp. How about that pitching? We’ve got some talent and it was fun to watch.Moving on, let’s lead off with some ebola news. Family: Amber Vinson free of Ebola virushttp://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/10/22/ebola-amber-vinson-recovery/17742417/The family also said that the 29-year-old nurse, who contracted the virus from Liberian Thomas Eric Duncan, was regaining strength and that her spirits were high."We are overjoyed to announce that, as of yesterday evening, officials at Emory University Hospital and the Centers for Disease Control (and Prevention) are no longer able to detect virus in her body," the family said in a statement hours after Vinson spoke with her mother, Debra Berry.Dallas nurse, Amber Vinson, free of ebola. Now, keep in mind, this means nothing at all. The CDC is saying that 900,000 people will die of ebola. We have an epidemic, according to the CDC and the news media. Officially, we have gone from 3 ebola patients to 1 ebola patient. And, just released, 43 potential ebola patients now ebola free.It seems to be things are fairly under control. Unfortunately, that can’t be the case because that’s not what the CDC says. According to the CDC, it’s a death sentence. What’s funny is that they don’t say whether it’s an airborne virus or not. What they say is, we can’t confirm that it’s not. So, naturally, that’s just designed to strike fear into the hearts of man. It’s so not an issue and it’s just frustrating to me that we keep on having to have this discussion. This is designed to do nothing more than to create fear and panic in you. And we’re not going to do that. If no one else will do it, then we will be the voice of reason.Us and Shepard Smith. Further, an autopsy report suggested that there was a “significant altercation at the car.”The alleged account of Ferguson officer Darren Wilson, who fatally shot Brown, was also included in Tuesday night’s explosive reports. If you remember several weeks ago, I talked about the rioters destroying their own town, burning down their own convenience stores. Well, there’s new evidence out today that proves that Michael Brown had THC in his system. His urine and his blood showed THC in his system, which would explain a lot because one of the things that I’ve never understood about the the shooting and what happened was what would cause a kid if he sees the cops, what would possess him to run to the cop, punch him in the face while he’s in his vehicle, reach in, try to grab his gun and then ultimately get shot. And then what would possess him after being shot to then turn around and continue to confront the officer.Well, now we find out. There’s a reasonable explanation for it.It’s because he was hopped up on THC.On Wednesday, protesters went into the police station to demand justice saying “if we don’t get justice here, we’ll get it on the streets.” I think that somebody needs to explain what justice means because apparently justice to the protesters is convicting a man of murder with absolutely no substantiating evidence whatsoever. Apparently, justice to these individuals is ignoring all of the facts and looking only at the individual’s race. And making your determination as to their guilt or innocence based on the color of their skin. Now, in my mind, that’s racism. But it turns out that they in fact are storming police stations now threatening that if they don’t get justice, which i’m assuming is a conviction of Officer Wilson where he goes to prison regardless of the evidence of the crime, that that’s the only thing that will suffice in terms of justice. That that in their mind is justice. And I say, what kind of world are we living in?Again, the protesters that are out there, this has nothing to do about justice for Michael Brown. It’s important that you understand that. None of this has to do with justice for Michael Brown. What they may have is they may have complaints about the Ferguson Police Department and those complaints may be justified. But this is not the case that you use to justify and to let out your anger because this case has absolutely nothing to do with justice. What I’m saying is, there may be merit to the argument. But they’re pinning, they’re hitching their wagon to a lost cause. Michael Brown died because he was a criminal who apparently was on drugs and who had just got done robbing a convenience store. Then he attacked in officer and was shot dead. If you’re a protester, this is not who you’ll want to be hitching your wagon to. This is not the one you want to make your stand on.There is police corruption all throughout the United States. Go find that. Go find the real corruption. Go find the real Black kid who was gunned down for no good reason. I just saw an article, police raided the wrong house and a 7 year old kid was murdered by the police after they raided the wrong house, shot dead in their bed. This happens every day. Go protest that. Don’t protest this. This makes you look bad. Canada's parliament attacked, soldier fatally shot nearbyhttp://www.reuters.com/article/2014/10/22/us-canada-attacks-shooting-idUSKCN0IB1PY20141022Canadian officials identify shooter in brazen attack on Parliament complexhttp://www.foxnews.com/world/2014/10/22/soldier-shot-at-war-memorial-near-canadian-parliament/There was a mass shooting at Canada’s parliament and before this shooting occurred, there was a shooting at a memorial where two soldiers shot, one was wounded and one was killed. Currently, the top rate of 39.6 percent is paid on income above $406,750 for individuals and $457,600 for couples. These 'economists' are wrong on so many levels.I explain why and how in every single one of their points because this is the type of study that liberals and progressives will use to arm themselves. • Detroit Double Crossed by the U.N.
Welcome back, so glad you’re here with us today for another edition of The Live Show.First off, let’s talk about the Royals. What a terrible showing. I felt bad for our boys but they didn’t play well so they didn’t win. Hopefully they’ll play a little better tonight. In today’s episode, we have a lot of stuff in the stack today. We’ve got a lot of Detroit news that I want to talk about. We also have some stuff about the Mexican drug cartels and all this talk about ISIS.I’ve been saying this but ISIS is not really a threat. It’s not a threat to you or me. It’s a problem for you if you live in the region but it’s just not a problem for us.And there’s an article from American Al Jazeera contrasting how bad ISIL is with how bad the drug cartels in Mexico are. They have some good numbers that they throw out here are actually pretty good so I’ll read a little bit about it despite the fact that it’s nothing more than an apology piece for ISIL, which we’ll get to a little later in the show. I want to begin by talking first about stocks. We saw a major rally. Now, I don’t like to pat myself on the back but sometimes when nobody is there to pat me on the back, I have to do it. And I told you guys that we were going to see a rally. If you take a look at the Dow Jones Industrial average, we’re trading at 16 6. Now, I put my money where my mouth was and I bought calls at 164 calls, the November calls. And so right now, I’m well into the money on those calls and I am looking for a move back up into around 16 8. That is the previous little dip level. I told you last time you have to respect the previous structural level looking at around 16 4. You can see that the market actually found a little bit of resistance. The market did respect that 16 4 level until yesterday and we now broke above it. So, the next level that we’re kind of watching is at 16 8. If we can get there, then that’s going to be the area where I’m going to look to off my calls and take my profits out of that because I think that’s probably where we’re going to potentially be seeing the selling.I didn’t know if this was going to be a 3 day rally or a 7 day rally but it looks like we’re already 3 days into the rally. We could have a down day today but if we can get up there, if we can get a 200 pip rally over the next couple of days, I’ll end up taking that position off for a very nice profit.-----If you would like to discuss anything with John about the show, email him at [email protected] can also use the hashtag #TheLiveShowFollow Jason on Twitter: www.Twitter.com/TheLiveShowTVFollow Us on Facebook: www.Facebook.com/TheLiveShowTV-----If you are really enjoying the show and would like to support what we're doing at The Live Show, please consider donating to our cause. They have lost something like 50% of their population. There are massive amounts of poverty and huge losses of business and commerce. Because Detroit was built around the auto industry, when the auto industry saw a decline, Detroit likewise saw a decline. The unions have lost their grip on that economy. And companies are just simply moving out, moving their plants to other countries, other parts of the United States, where it’s less expensive for them to operate. One of their major problems is Detroit is now bankrupt, they’re beyond bankrupt. They cannot pay their bills, they cannot do anything that they’re suppose to do. Keep in mind, liberals and progressives have been running the state of Michigan and, more specifically, the city of Detroit, since the Industrial Revolution. And like most progressives, they’ve managed to run it into the ground. The reason that it happens is that they make promises that they cannot possibly fulfill on. They consider things that are really no more than conveniences or excesses as human rights, as rights. It’s a right that you have a certain amount of money. It’s a right that you receive a certain amount of pay. It’s a right that you have healthcare or that you have a place to live. And when you start making these rights, you have to fulfill on that. And when you start making promises that you are going to pay someone a certain wage and you’re going to give them certain insurances, certain pensions, eventually, when times are good there is no problem but when times start to turn down, there is no way for you to possibly pay for those things. This is where entitlement comes from.Detroit officials bristle at UN visit, scolding over water shut-offshttp://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/10/21/detroit-disappointed-in-uns-non-fact-finding-visits-about-water-shut-offs/Detroit officials are fuming after two visiting United Nations lawyers scolded the city for cutting off water to delinquent customers and described the shut-offs as a “human rights” violation. The response follows a three-day visit to Detroit -- which desperately is trying to bail itself out of bankruptcy -- from two representatives with the U.N. Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.Detroit officials have defended the decision, arguing that customers collectively owed more than $115 million in delinquent water-and-sewer department payments before the city took action and that their efforts are improving the situation. They have done just an absolutely atrocious job of managing virtually every aspect of that city. Things have gotten so bad, they have gotten so bankrupt, that they are resorting to actually doing some things that they should have done, really, a long time ago. One of which is shutting off the water to people who do not pay their water bills. What we have here is a grossly mismanaged city by a group of progressives who think they know better how to run everything. Here’s the thing: You just can’t not pay for a service that’s not a human right. It doesn’t work like that. Water being delivered to your house is not a human right. It’s a privilege. It’s a benefit. It’s a luxury. Now I know many of you in America might not think of indoor plumbing as a luxury or a common convenience but it is. There are lots of people around the world who would love to not have to go out and pump water from a well and bring it to their home.Snyder signs bill banning direct auto saleshttp://www.detroitnews.com/story/business/autos/2014/10/21/snyder-tesla-direct-sales/17663891/Gov. Rick Snyder on Tuesday signed a bill banning automakers from selling vehicles directly to customers in Michigan. The new law closes a loophole that California-based Tesla Motors Inc. has used in other states to maintain company-owned retail stores, bypassing the dealership route. It’s because of policies like this that they are bankrupt. With absolute power, there is a lot of corruption. Anytime you give government authority, you risk government corruption. The law says that you cannot sell a vehicle direct to a consumer if you’re auto maker. You must sell through authorized franchises. Now, why would they do that? Is that in the best interest of the consumer?Absolutely not. You’re creating a middle man. You’re creating price hikes. You’re creating a barrier between the person who creates the products to selling to the person who wants to buy it.It doesn’t benefit the consumer at all. And doesn’t benefit the auto company either because now they cannot be competitive.Fed likely to end bond buying, may signal caution on rate hikeshttp://www.reuters.com/article/2014/10/16/us-usa-fed-idUSKCN0I529T20141016The Federal Reserve is likely to reassure investors later this month that it won't stand idle if global turbulence threatens the U.S. economy, but a proposal from one top policymaker to keep on buying bonds looks to be a bridge too far.Mexican drug cartels are worse than ISILhttp://america.aljazeera.com/opinions/2014/10/isil-vs-mexican-drugcartelsunitedstatesislamophobia.htmlThe horrific rampage of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) has captured the world’s attention. Many Western commentators have characterized ISIL’s crimes as unique, no longer practiced anywhere else in the civilized world. They argue that the group’s barbarism is intrinsically Islamic, a product of the aggressive and archaic worldview that dominates the Muslim world. The ignorance of these claims is stunning. While there are other organized groups whose depravity and threat to the United States far surpasses that of ISIL, none has engendered the same kind of collective indignation and hysteria. This raises a question: Are Americans primarily concerned with ISIL’s atrocities or with the fact that Muslims are committing these crimes? For example, even as the U.S. media and policymakers radically inflate ISIL’s threat to the Middle East and United States, most Americans appear to be unaware of the scale of the atrocities committed by Mexican drug cartels and the threat they pose to the United States.A recent United Nations report estimated nearly 9,000 civilians have been killed and 17,386 wounded in Iraq in 2014, more than half since ISIL fighters seized large parts on northern Iraq in June. It is likely that the group is responsible another several thousand deaths in Syria. To be sure, these numbers are staggering. But in 2013 drug cartels murdered more than 16,000 people in Mexico alone, and another 60,000 from 2006 to 2012 — a rate of more than one killing every half hour for the last seven years. What is worse, these are estimates from the Mexican government, which is known to deflate the actual death toll by about 50 percent.Statistics alone do not convey the depravity and threat of the cartels. They carry out hundreds of beheadings every year. In addition to decapitations, the cartels are known to dismember and otherwise mutilate the corpses of their victims — displaying piles of bodies prominently in towns to terrorize the public into compliance. They routinely target women and children to further intimidate communities. Like ISIL, the cartels use social media to post graphic images of their atrocious crimes.Support the show.

  • Socialist threatens Jason after hearing his views on Socialism
Apparently, yesterday’s episode was one of the most heated shows that we’ve ever done. We got a lot of comments, our first threat and a few people sending emails, telling me politely that I went over the line yesterday. And although they understand, they feel like I went too far.So, naturally, I figured the best thing we could do was to continue the conversation today.Actually, I want to clarify my position because we had two main issues of contention yesterday. The first one being the Michael Brown shooting and the second one being the minimum wage. And so I’d like to address those in much more detail today.Just as a side note, there’s not a lot going on, the U.S. markets are showing up 60 to 70 points up already and this is a relatively slow news day in terms of whats happening. In the stack, we’ve got some stuff about same sex marriage that’s going on, Obamacare cancellations, so there’s some stuff we can get into a little later.-----If you would like to email Jason and discuss anything on the show, email him at [email protected] can also use the hashtag #theliveshowFollow Jason on Twitter: www.Twitter.com/TheLiveShowTVFollow Us on Facebook: www.Facebook.com/TheLiveShowTV-----If you are really enjoying the show and would like to support what we're doing at The Live Show, please consider donating to our cause. I also might have said that there was no great loss there. And I got some emails from some folks who weren’t very happy with me.And, what I want to make very clear is I did not make this about race. Never in my entire argument have I made the Michael Brown shooting about race. I have discussed ad nauseam how others have made it about race. But what I’ve said since the very beginning was ‘let’s look at the facts of the case’.In fact, factually we know nothing. We don’t know what happened. We know that there is a Black teen who’s dead. You can even take out the Black part and say there is a teen that is dead who was shot by a cop. I said let’s wait until the facts come out and yesterday, we looked at the facts as we know them. The FBI came in, they did a full forensic investigation, and from what we understand, we can start to put the pieces together.I still don’t know whether or not Michael Brown should have been shot or not. All of the evidence suggests that a fight ensued in the police officer’s squad car, that Michael Brown was shot while wrestling with the officer in the car. That he got out, the officer pursued him, and he was shot several more times while facing the officer. But in terms of my opinion about Michael Brown, this has nothing to do about race.We know he was a thug. We have video tape of him not 15 minutes before he was shot committing robbery, robbing a local convenience store. The kid was not a saint. He’s not somebody that was top shelf character. And I’m not going to have the argument and racist debate. This has nothing to do with race. It has to do with there was a young thug who robbed a convenience store and then later was shot. The question is, what happened over the course of that shooting? And all of the evidence suggests that he was shot trying to wrestle away a gun from the officer. Now, one might say, well you can’t trust what the FBI says. They are the police. They are part of the problem so you can’t trust anything that they say.Well, my response to that is, if you can’t trust anything, then nothing will ever be good enough. No amount of evidence, no amount of support, will convince you that Michael Brown shot in self defense. You can choose to believe that but recognize that you’re doing so in the face of overwhelming evidence against that fact. What frustrates me more than anything, is the fact that I came in yesterday, presented you with the evidence, made my opinions based on that, made them known to you. And for some reason, I’m now looked at as the racist. If you are presented with overwhelming evidence, contrary to your belief about what happened, and you say it doesn’t matter. All that matters is that the kid was Black, the officer was White, and that’s all you need to know.I submit to you, how racist do you have to be to think that way?If all you see is the color of everyone’s skin, is that not racism? You know, we’ve talked about Martin Luther King earlier on this show that was somewhat unrelated to this. I was more so talking about putting people into groups. And I said, Martin Luther King fought, ultimately died in support of his belief where he said ‘I have a dream that one day I will be judged not by the color of my skin but by the content of my character’.Ladies and gentlemen, if you look into your heart, you need to ask yourself, am I judging this case on the content of his character?Or am I judging this case by the color of his skin? This has nothing to do with race. The only people making this about race are those folks who are so racist, who are so overwhelmed with the racial strife in America that they can’t see past the color of that officer’s skin.We also got a comment after the show because I talked about Republicans and conservatives constantly being berated for their racial views. And I said, ‘this is utterly ridiculous’.I got a comment on Tweet that said, I didn’t realize that it was a Republican that freed the slaves.   And I thought, how can that be? Maybe this individual is an immigrant or from another part of the world. But I thought, how poorly educated is our population? How brain washed are they to not understand the history of the Republican Party? And the history of conservatism? Now, keep in mind, I am not a Republican. I’m a registered Republican just because I’m not registered Independent. I want to affect the conservative movement in America so I’m registered as a Republican. But I am a staunch Libertarian, which puts me at odds with the Republican Party on a lot of issues. It does not put me at odds with the issues of slavery. Or the issue of affirmative action. Or the issue of anti discrimination. That puts me squarely in the camp of conservatives, which is the right side of history. And for those of you who don’t realize, for those of you who are African Americans, who have been supporters of the Democratic Party over your entire lives because you believe they are the ones looking after you, I just want to share with you some facts about the Democratic Party. When the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which would end segregation nationwide came to Congress for a vote, a number of Senators threatened to filibuster that bill.80% of the Senators that threatened to filibuster the Civil Rights Act were Democrats. In fact, only 63% of them actually voted for the Civil Rights Act in 1964, did you know this? How did the Republican members of Congress vote concerning the Civil Rights Act of 1964? A total of 82% of Republicans in Congress voted to end segregation. You had more Republicans in Congress vote to end segregation in America than you had Democrats. When they talk about desegregating the schools in the South, it was the Democrats that opposed the desegregation of schools. It was a Democrat Governor that opposed letting that girl who was standing with armed guards from entering that school.I don’t care what you’re talking about, whether you’re talking about ending slavery, ending oppression, giving equality to all people, women suffrage, Democrats have been dragged kicking and screaming to it until they realize they can profit from it.Until they realized that by telling those in the minority status that they can’t get ahead without help, that they need special privileges, that equality itself is not enough, they need special privileges, that people should be forced to accepted them. That you should be forced to get people access to college, whether they earn it on their merits or not.It has become not about the content of my character, not about the merits of who I am as a human being but rather strictly on the color of my skin. And it is exactly what Martin Luther King opposed. And just to finish up on this topic, you disagree with the way I present the argument. But you cannot disagree with the merits of the argument. The merit is sound. But sometimes the truth hurts.    I got a few not very kind comments on my YouTube Channel after yesterday’s show, that I was spreading lies and filth. I actually invited this individual on to the show to discuss the issue of socialism as it relates to the minimum wage. Check it out and join the conversation if you’d like to be heard on the issue.Socialism cannot stand on it’s own merits. It’s a failure of an idea. The idea of this wonderful utopia sounds great. It just doesn’t exist in real life. The laws of economics prevent it from working. Not only that, personal psychology prevents it from happening. But I spend yesterday’s episode tearing down the tenets of socialism and basically showing you why it’s such an idiotic concept, that you couldn’t possibly provide a guaranteed income to everyone because it requires you to guarantee something that’s in limited supply. Rationing must take place, whether prices do it or governments do it.And all that we suggest, as Libertarians, as free market conservatives, is that the pricing model distributes and allocates it’s resources better than a government ever could. And there is no denying that. You cannot deny that. It is factually and historically proven. Minimum Wage Madness by Thomas Sowellhttp://townhall.com/columnists/thomassowell/2013/09/17/minimum-wage-madness-n1701840/page/fullPolitical crusades for raising the minimum wage are back again. Advocates of minimum wage laws often give themselves credit for being more "compassionate" towards "the poor." But they seldom bother to check what are the actual consequences of such laws. One of the simplest and most fundamental economic principles is that people tend to buy more when the price is lower and less when the price is higher. Yet advocates of minimum wage laws seem to think that the government can raise the price of labor without reducing the amount of labor that will be hired. As for being "compassionate" toward "the poor," this assumes that there is some enduring class of Americans who are poor in some meaningful sense, and that there is something compassionate about reducing their chances of getting a job. Most Americans living below the government-set poverty line have a washer and/or a dryer, as well as a computer. More than 80 percent have air conditioning. More than 80 percent also have both a landline and a cell phone. Nearly all have television and a refrigerator. Most Americans living below the official poverty line also own a motor vehicle and have more living space than the average European -- not Europeans in poverty, the average European. Why then are they called "poor"? Because government bureaucrats create the official definition of poverty, and they do so in ways that provide a political rationale for the welfare state -- and, not incidentally, for the bureaucrats' own jobs. When you increase the minimum wage, what you do is you make it very difficult for anyone with low skills or no skills to enter the workforce because if that skill set does not offer at least what the minimum wage demands, then that worker simply won’t be hired. When the minimum wage standard is raised, in order to compensate for that, what ends up happening is prices go up, we get price inflation. That price inflation, in turn, wipes out any advantage that was given to that lower wage worker.Minimum wage jobs, entry level jobs are designed to be just that, entry level, to allow you to build your skillset, to allow employers to hire very cheap labor and then skill them up.Make sure you don't miss my rant about how the minimum wage hurts us all and leads to generational poverty as well as an entitlement attitude. Christian Chapel Owners Were Reportedly Threatened With Jail Time and Fines For Refusing to Marry Gays — and Now They’re Fighting Backhttp://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014/10/20/ordained-ministers-who-refuse-to-marry-gay-couples-in-their-chapel-are-fighting-back-after-reportedly-being-threatened-with-fines-and-jail-time/Two ordained ministers have filed a federal lawsuit and are seeking a restraining order to prevent local officials from forcing them to marry same-sex couples, saying they have been threatened with fines and possible jail time over their refusal.Donald and Evelyn Knapp, owners of Hitching Post Wedding Chapel in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, are being represented by the Alliance Defending Freedom, a conservative legal firm, claiming that city officials told them that they are required to conduct gay marriages under a nondiscrimination ordinance. If they do not, the Knapps say, that they could “face months in jail and/or thousands of dollars in fines,” according to a press release from Alliance Defending Freedom. The firm said the couple could face up to 180 days in jail or $1,000 in fines for each day they refuse.Support the show.
