The third of the four human temperaments is air. Air reflects the light spirited, sanguine personality type. As its name implies, air represents a free-floating, flexible and expansive charachter - one that is spontaneous, adventurous, dreaming and imagining new possibilities. Unconfined by fixed structures, with an ability to yield and be open to new experiences, someone who easily let's go of things without carrying heavy baggage. Think of a social butterfly; flitting and flying around, breezing through life, untethered and unbound.

These beautiful qualities also have their challenges. The airy personality can be ungrounded and even superficial, with no real anchor or purpose. The negative energy of air is a general vacuous attitude, empty behavior filled with "air" and no substance. This includes ambiguity and  frivolity, as well as scoffing, boasting, inflated pomposity, and idle talk.
