Finishing up the interview with Lance White, we close off the valuable conversation around dealing with private money lenders and how important your reputation is in a small metro or city like Omaha or Lincoln. Lance shares some valuable stories and even brakes down a real life scenario Ted presents to him. In his Failing Forward, he then talks about his one time he failed to honor the timeline with a private money lender and how he was able to make things right. Lance then shares his passion for comic books and shares some knowledge about grading and knowing how much a collectible like that is really worth. Tanner Gordon spares no detail when laying out his mistakes, failures and showing the kind of person he really is. His genuine gestures has landed him as Ted's favorite contractor, a sentiment that's shared among many of Tanner's clients. Tanner's method of communicating shocks Owen as he's never experienced that working with contractors in his 18 year tenure as a Real Estate Investor. Tanner Gordon’s past had more activity before the age of 21 than most people have in their lifetime. In This interview, he details the early stages of his backstory. Before Real Estate, Tanner was a pretty good boxer. A serious injury forced him to hang up his gloves and really pay attention to his health and well being. In Episode 92 Part 2, Spencer reveals some of the major results he was able to create after going through that transformational journey he detailed in Part 1. He shares how he picked his partners using the "trial by fire" method, in other words, he would bring prospects in to do a flip with him and based on how they performed, would know if he was willing to continue working with them or not. It's not a method for everyone as it takes proper planning to avoid losing more than expected, so be aware of this. Spencer also spoke about his commercial real estate investing company, how he came up with the name LITE and what's the why behind it. He then closes off talking about a rather peculiar project that involves transforming over 30 grain silos on a 5 acre lot of land in a nice area just outside the heart of the Omaha metro. If you’ve struggled with understanding which career path you should take, you’re not alone - our next guest’s story is one to surely encourage you. You can almost feel the enthusiasm from Spencer Goldenberg during this two part interview. The interesting thing with him is he had no idea that Commercial Brokering is what he would eventually end up in. After intentionally pursuing and acquiring a Journalism Degree from the University of Kansas, he came Omaha and landed a job as a cold caller. Spencer’s story drastically changed at this point when he decided that in order for him to become the person he always wanted to be, in order to achieve the success he always wanted, he would have to completely change who he was. Clint Blackburn hails from a small town called Taber in Iowa which is about 15 minutes from Malvern Iowa where Owen grew up. With a population just shy of 1000, Clint is known by most of the town as The Real Estate Investor that buys ugly homes and makes them nice and habitable again. In this episode, Clint shares his background story from straight out of high school going into being an electrician to eventually doing real estate full time and all the steps he went through in between. He also tells an interesting story of how he acquired his 70 acre farm home where he currently lives. Our Interview with Tamara gets really deep and she shares her stories about balancing her family life with her work life as she was starting her company Brunow Contracting, while getting a divorce, with 2 children under 5 years and pregnant. Talk about making things happen and getting stuff done no matter what. The conversation then moves onto how she got involved in 3D printing homes and her thoughts about the future of that part of the Real Estate Industry, highlighting some inefficiencies in the printing process. Tamara believes there are places where 3D printing can excel, and she gets into those in detail during that section of her interview. Her Failing Forward talks about how owning your screw ups, making things right and maintaining your integrity  may feel uncomfortable at first, but always pays off in the end, especially when dealing with high level individuals. Tamara Brunow is one of those people in Real Estate that you don't hear much of, but is doing some amazing things with her construction and investment companies. Most people who've heard of Tamara know her through her company Bruno Contracting. She's known for working with Iowa State University College of Design’s 3D Affordable Innovative Technologies Housing Project on a demonstration build in Hamburg, Iowa where a 3D printer will be used to manufacture affordable homes in a 40-unit development that is part of the community’s recovery efforts from 2019 flooding. More details about that in part 2. In this first part, Tamara starts off the talk engaging Owen in a healthy discussion about taxes and a trending topic of recent, Affordable Housing.
