The 2000 Solved, Then Unsolved Murder Of Michelle O'Keefe: The Girl In The Blue Mustang

(Formerly titled "The Tale of the Man Who Knew Too Much").  Michelle O’Keefe was shot and killed in a park and ride in Palmdale, California on February 22, 2000 after attending a Kid Rock Concert.  The security guard on duty that night at the Park and Ride, Raymond Lee Jennings, was a witness to the crime…sort of.  The more Jennings spoke to police about what he saw and heard that night, the more investigators began to suspect he had more to do with the crime than just witnessing it.  Three trials and 17 years later, the answers to what happened to Michelle O’Keefe remain shrouded in mystery…

On September 30th, 1968, Wendy Jo Halison left her Los Angeles home to run to Thrifty’s Drug Store to buy a new hair dryer. She never came home. Her case would turn into the oldest cold case to be solved in LAPD history.  Edwin Dean Richardson had been on parole for 5 months when Wendy was murdered.  He also killed several other women before he was linked to Wendy's killing, but her family would not find out about him until 4 years after he died in prison.

(Formerly titled "The Tale of the Scars We Bear").  Two El Segundo Police officers, Milton Curtis and Richard Phillips, were gunned down in cold blood in the early morning hours of July 22, 1957.  Their killer, Gerald Mason, managed to elude capture for more than 4 decades until a phone tip in 2002 sparked the interest of two homicide detectives who wanted to take a new look at the decades long cold case with a fresh set of eyes and modern technology.

[Formerly titled "The Tale of Torture in the Desert"].  On October 1, 2012, a marijuana dispensary owner, who we will call John D, and his roommate Mary, we abducted by 3 masked intruders from their Newport Beach home and driven out to the Mojave Desert where it was believed John D was hiding a secret stash of money, buried someplace in the desert.  Hear the details of their harrowing experience, and how far these three men would go in order to force John D into disclosing the location of his hidden money.  Hossein Nayeri, Ryan Kevorkian, and  Kyle Handley all conspired to pull off the kidnapping.  

UPDATE: Naomi Rhodus was the final defendant convicted in the case.  She pleaded guilty to accessory in the kidnapping in 2022 and was sentenced to 3 years of probation
