With the first half of the League over, who is doing well and who is struggling when it comes to their mid-term report?

On this week’s Throw-In podcast, Will Slattery and Donnchadh Boyle are joined by Dick Clerkin and John Mullane to give their overall marks.

Managing the next few weeks with one eye on the Championship is an important time says Dick with Roscommon’s shortcomings coming to light in Clones following their three point defeat to Monaghan. Next week’s clash against Mayo will show how far they’ve come.

Kerry beat a spirited Armagh by a point in Killarney and while Donnchadh believes Armagh could be ones to watch during the Championship, Dick says they have to go on and prove themselves in Ulster after plenty of talk the last few years.

In Division 2, Derry have been blowing away teams but is it just their early fitness that’s propelling them through games and will we see others catch up with them come the Championship?

For Dublin, despite only beating Clare by a point in Croke Park, Dubs fans needn’t be overly worried just yet and they’re saving themselves for the summer, says the panel.

In the hurling, John Mullane thinks Cork and Tipperary should be pleased with how their opening games have gone with 100% records but there’s question marks over Wexford and Galway so far this year.

Teams that have been aping Limerick for too long also come in for some strong criticism from Mullane and he says, counties should go back to doing what they know best.
