This week's short involves a bottle of Maker's Mark that was bottled in 1981. This is the same year that Steven and Anthony were born. While we couldn't organize an all-star lineup for our monumental 400th episode, we did think it would be appropriate to crack a bottle that is a little harder to find. If you were to visit a store in 1981 buy this bottle of bourbon, it would have cost you $10. Even though that doesn't seem like a lot -- it was quite expensive then and people noticed. So, how does this bottle taste roughly 45 years after it was bottled? You'll have to give us a listen to find out. We want to thank you all for your continued support of the podcast. E400 - Maker's Mark Export from 1981

The Kentucky Bourbon Festival kicks off next Friday and we have an early review of some bottles that can be purchased there. You've heard us talk about Dark Arts MANY times on the podcast. Even though enthusiasts are familiar with all the great alchemy that is taking place right here in Lexington, KY - we feel the best is yet to come for this still relatively new whiskey house. In this episode, we taste and review two of their upcoming releases: a hazmat Kentucky bourbon and a 19 year old Kentucky bourbon that was finished for an astonishing 7 years in Japanese Mizunara. Along the way, we talk about the coming fall season, sports, and a bunch of other fun stuff. Are you going to KBF? If so, you'll want to give Dark Arts a visit! --------------------------SocialsIG: https://www.instagram.com/themashupkyFB: https://www.facebook.com/themashupkyYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@themashupkyJoin our community on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TheMashUpBourbonPodcastPartnership(s)Visit Bourbonoutfitter.com and enter code THEMASHUP for a special discount or visit bourbonoutfitter.com/THEMASHUPMusic: All the Fixings by Zachariah HickmanThank you so much for listening!

E390 - Michter's 10 Year Straight Rye Whiskey (2026)

In this episode, we taste and review the brand new Jack Daniel’s High Angel's Share Tennessee Whiskey. The new limited release is comprised of traditional Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey laid down in 2016. The whiskey rested atop Coy Hill on the top floor of Barrelhouse 1-13 for a high angel’s share maturation. As the barrels rested in the highest reaches of the barrelhouse, an increased amount of whiskey was lost, presenting a very unique whiskey. But how does it taste? We'll give you our perspective and we hope you have a chance to try it. E389 - Jack Daniel’s High Angel’s Share Tennessee Whiskey

In this episode, we taste and review the brand new Booker’s The Reserves 2026. This is a limited-edition Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey finished in apple brandy barrels and infused with cinnamon. This is a family recipe of sorts and it's meant to honor the tradition that Booker used to follow during the holidays when he used Booker's barrels to age homemade apple wine. This rye is aged for a little over 6 years and comes in at 125.1 proof and is uncut, unfiltered, and non-chill filtered. Give us a listen to find out how it tastes.
