When people talk about investments, chances are they are talking about money. The factor of time always seems to take a back seat, although investments in money often are ties into time as well. But, is there such a thing as investing in time alone? And what is the outcome?
Well, investing in time alone yields many fascinating results. For example, time allows us to gain more knowledge. The results? Brighter, wiser people. But if you are looking for a much more effective result of time investment, my favorite is always my "Spend 5 - Save 30" rule. This basically means you can spend 5 minutes of planning and save yourself 30 minutes. Sure, this is not a set rule of any kind and there is no real science behind the principle. It is just something I have always done that simple states that when you spend any amount of time pre-planning, you can save up to 6 times that amount of time in the process of delivering what you planned for.
