A veteran missionary of 18 years explains one of the newest strategies of the UPCI for evangelizing unreached people groups in Access Challenged Nations (ACNs). ACNs are characterized by two or more of the following criteria: Little or no known indigenous apostolic presence, challenging visa and immigration policies, or persecution.
The extensive ACN network combines a team of researchers with national churches, already appointed missionaries in gateway nations, and even other Christians in different denominations to uncover solutions for penetrating ACNs.

Raised from age eight as a missionary kid (MK) in South Korea, Bishop Bernard recalls what it was like to live under the constant specter of communist aggression and in a distinctly different (Eastern) culture. While the challenges to MKs are readily apparent, Bishop Bernard brings into sharp relief the seldom acknowledged advantages of being raised as an MK in a foreign culture.
The bishop also shares his thoughts on emerging foreign fields (e.g., unreached people groups) and enduring opportunities for missionaries in “established” or “mature” foreign fields.
To cap it all off, the bishop lists the characteristics he would want to see in the current and future corps of short- and long-term global missionaries within the UPCI.
Bishop D.K. Bernard’s most recent book on missions, To the end of the earth: Adventures in missions, can be purchased on Amazon (Kindle version) or Pentecostal Publishing House (hard copy and eBook)
Third culture kids: Growing up among worlds by Van Reken and Pollack (Amazon Link)

From a miracle offering that helped send them get back on the field to raising $150,000 annually to support national missionaries, Aaron and Tiffany Anderson, missionaries to Brazil, remind us that launching out in faith takes many forms—including financial provision.
The Andersons also share their tried & tested advice for staying fresh during the fundraising process of deputation: Exercise, rest (no, seriously, take a day off!), have fun, and embrace the process.
Based in São Paulo, Brazil’s most populous city, the Anderson’s are helping advance the large and growing, constituency of over 200,000 and over 1,200 churches.

The wives of The Missions Table are back! Former missionary kids (MKs), Tanya Harrod and Keirsten Paul recount some of their most vivid childhood experiences with guest host Lalaina Tingley.
The ladies reflect on how their parents’ positive attitude in the face of droughts, civil wars, and months of travel made missionary life a joyful experience, not a drudgery. Interwoven in the miraculous, and hilarious, stories these women share lessons that every family called to the foreign mission field should take to heart. Keep your children involved. Make every place you live a home. And above all, submit to God and trust Him for every need.

Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction … (James 1:17 ESV)
In this week’s podcast, veteran missionaries Ron and Terry Brian give powerful witness to the truth that one can be a missionary and still take care of those who are hurting. The Brian’s indefatigable efforts include Bible school, English classes, programs to feed the hungry community, and a non-stop construction project to build ever more churches.
It is truly remarkable to hear how God has blessed this national work with over 50,000 constituents, in spite of the spiritual oppression and a high level of crime currently affecting Haiti. We pray this episode touches your heart as it did ours.

Missionary of 29 years to Bangladesh, Brother James Corbin discusses principles for long-term success on the mission field, ranging from confidence in our calling to consistency in language and cultural study. At the same time, Brother Corbin reminds us that God cannot demonstrate His miraculous power until we step out of our comfort zone in faith.
The consistent sowing of these principles, in faith, has turned Bangladesh into a revival nation. The Corbin’s have nearly completed a Bible school and “Apostolic hub” in the capital city of Dhaka which will be capable of housing 100 Bible students, among other things.
You can help directly with the furnishing this great facility by reaching out to Brother Corbin via Facebook, https://www.facebook.com/james.corbin.923, or by giving to the Corbin's “Bible School Memorial Fund” at https://www.globalmissions.com/giving

There are two sides to every story. The wives join The Missions Table to give the woman’s perspective of the missions experience.
The team of ladies recalls their thoughts, emotions, and reservations as God began to call their families to the mission field. Where will the kids go to school? Is there adequate healthcare? Am I spiritually prepared to be a missionary?
Packed with inspiring testimonies, the ladies recount the numerous ways in which God has miraculously taken care of them and their families on the mission field, down to the minutest details! And the ways that God had been preparing them, sometimes years before, for their present ministry.

“How do you keep your family close to God on the mission field?” “How do I plan for my future financially as a missionary?”
Veteran missionary to Bolivia and Spain Howard Smith joins The Missions Table. Brother Smith shares lessons from 32 years of experience about some of the things he wishes he would have known as a new missionary.
He addresses everything from changing fields of ministry to church planting methodologies, to raising a family oversees, and maintaining a right spirit in the good times and bad times.

When God called Elisha, he burnt his plow and sacrificed his oxen. Elisha went “all in” with God and his mentor, Elijah. But is it really that easy to leave the career, the mortgage, and the car payments behind to pursue missions?
In this week’s podcast, The Missions Table team explores this question. Brother Ryan Paul and Brother Sam Zenobia share their experiences in leaving successful careers, as well as the Biblical principles that helped them break loose from the “rat race” and transition to the missions field.
