Adam is back East (again) and starts his new job at MGM Springfield. Battling with anxiety early in his life, Josh Hampton eventually turned to pills and became a self-proclaimed "dope boy." The only problem, instead of selling the product, he was using. He eventually became addicted which led to years of incarceration and chaos. Along the way, gambling crept into his life, compounding the damage. But today, Josh is in recovery - using his lived experience to help others as the Problem Gambling Coordinator at Sunrise Community for Recovery and Wellness in Asheville, NC.

They discuss the essential tools and support systems that have been pivotal in their healing process — from affirmations and journaling to the importance of community and having a trigger plan. Adam is joined by Stephen and Meaghan on his monthly 12-mile walk, a tradition inspired by the 12 steps of recovery. Every few miles, they check in. The conversations that follow are filled with gratitude, reflection, and the kind of peace that only comes after chaos.

Adam heads back East. Alex and Adam discuss what it's like to work while gambling and now in recovery. Rob’s gambling took him everywhere — even to a bathroom in Paris, sneaking spins on an online slot while his girlfriend waited outside. It was running his life, until he finally asked for help. But nine months into recovery, one day of gambling almost pulled him all the way back in. In Part 2 of his conversation with Adam, Rob shares how he got back up — and how filming TikToks in his mom’s basement turned into ODAAT, one of the most trusted voices in recovery today.

Chuck started betting horses at just eight years old — growing up in 1960's and 70's Queens, surrounded by bookies, loan sharks, and number runners. After his first rock bottom, he stopped and gambled "occasionally," without any issues. However, starting in 2020, he went back to his old destructive ways. At his lowest moment, after losing hundreds of thousands of dollars, Chuck called the problem gambling hotline — and Adam was the one who answered. That moment led him to a meeting in Rhode Island, and eventually, to recovery.
Adam's final days in Vegas with Eric and Zorro. Adam sits down with Jenny K, a recovering alcoholic who drank 7 days a week for over a decade. What started as fun and social, became a crippling addiction that cost her nearly everything — custody of her children, her freedom, and her peace. After 14 years of chaos, she made the choice during the pandemic to get help. Since then, she’s not only found sobriety — she’s rebuilt her life and now works in the recovery space, helping others find their way back too.
Adam is enjoying his final months in Vegas, except when he has to deal Omaha Hi-Lo. Adam and Jenn open with a conversation about self-exclusion and what it means in recovery. Then, in a special roundtable discussion, Adam sits down with Stephen, Katherine, and Meghan to talk about The Modern Meeting Meeting — a new virtual space for anyone impacted by addiction. Together, they discuss what makes this meeting different from traditional 12-step groups, why it was created, and what they hope it becomes.
Adam explains how his drug of choice was Venmo. Kristina, also known as "Deenz," joins the pod as someone negatively affected by an addict. Unfortunately, that addict was Adam. Having only known "Ad," as the fun and funny co-worker and friend who always made her laugh, she was excited to visit him and re-connect in Vegas in 2017. Little did she know, that for the next few years she would be lied to, manipulated, and made an enabler for Adam's chaotic obsession with gambling.
