In this episode of Raising Ohana we get together as the Ohana Adventure and go over our kids unfiltered thoughts. do they love being youtubers or hate being youtubers? did they love being on youtube and now hate it or vise versa. We go over all of the details and as our kids say... we spill all the tea!
We discuss what impacted us growing up, and why we feel what we need to do with our kids. We have our tips as well.
What's your thoughts on when you should have "the talk" with your kids? What was it like for you growing up?
What if finding balance in life meant moving halfway across the world? Our journey from the fast-paced hustle of YouTube fame to the serene landscapes of Scotland has been nothing short of transformative. We kick off Season 4 of Raising Ohana by sharing personal stories from our whirlwind collaborations with household names like Disney and Lego, and the toll that lifestyle took on our health. Hear how the pandemic brought an unexpected pause, forcing us to reevaluate our priorities and embrace a slower, more meaningful pace focused on family and well-being.
Ever felt like chasing success was leading you down a path of burnout? Our 2019 was a rollercoaster year, filled with the excitement of working with Nickelodeon but also immense stress and personal struggles. Therapy helped us navigate the chaos, and our Christian faith offered a guiding light towards service and family. Listen as we recount our spiritual journey, which inspired us to engage in service missions and make a bold move to Scotland. This decision was fraught with its own challenges but taught us invaluable lessons about resilience, faith, and the joy of simplifying life.
While it may seem like abundance is the key to happiness, our experiences taught us otherwise. True fulfillment often lies in small acts of kindness and nurturing meaningful relationships rather than accumulating material wealth. Join us as we explore the joys and struggles of adapting to life abroad, highlighting how even simple gestures can enrich our lives and those around us. We also invite you to engage with us across various platforms as we continue to build a supportive and inspiring community. Let's walk this journey of growth and discovery together.
We are talking about our teen boys, the next two in the lineup. Shae and Wyatt. These two teen boys are incredible young men but... teaching them to be responsible has been an entirely new experience for us.
Each of our kids has moved out at 17yrs old. Each of them has graduated Highschool early and left to College early. We were told this wasn't possible for "home schoolers" and have loved how this has happened over the years to each of our kids. What is so interesting is that each one of our children is so different from the rest but this has worked so well for each of them in different ways. tune in, comment down below and join the conversation.
FINALLY we are restarting The Ohana Adventure Podcast but have changed the name to RAISING OHANA! WHY? Because we will always be raising our Ohana (family) regardless of age or situation.
We launched it on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/@RaisingOhanaPodcast
finally so that we could have more of a community with comments and the ability to interact more openly with you directly! If you love audio you can catch all other seasons on any platform you consume podcasts on. And we will be sharing here as well.
We have had lots of changes and we are grateful for everyone who is on this adventure with us. Because you know it's always a crazy adventure with us.
After serving and doing hard work we always try to have a fun adventure to solidify the earlier experiences and lace them with adventure! An African Safari is one of the most adventurous things weve done! Lions eating Zebras, Elephants chasing you and Baboons almost jumping into your vehicle was only the beginning!
After helping the children of our first village draw and bring water to their village and realize how hard and time consuming it was... We decided that instead of donating what we did, we needed to raise $100,000.00 towards giving 30 more.
We left our home full of hope and excitement for our humanitarian trip to Uganda Africa! Whatever could go wrong did! Stay tuned for tips and tricks of what to do while travelling internationally in the new normal!
