Control is a major aspect of codependency, whether around an inability to control your own feelings, or trying to control or manipulate others in order to make yourself feel good. Sometimes dysfunction and childhood trauma are often the root of the problem for many people. In your adult life, it may mean overreacting or lashing out when your partner upset you in the slightest. My guest Pamela Reilly spent over ten years married to a pastor and ordained minister. Two months after they were married, she found out he was a closet addict and alcoholic. This is her story of healing and restoration from codependency and years of abuse.
