What does it take to create photographs in places where most people would never dare to stand?
On this episode of The P.H.Y.S Podcast, I sit down with Krystle Wright, an Australian adventure photographer and director whose work has redefined what is possible in action and adventure storytelling.
Her images and films have been featured in National Geographic, Outside Magazine, GQ, The Times, Red Bull, and The Huffington Post. She has also appeared on the National Geographic series Photographer and was named the winner of the prestigious 2023 Red Bull Illume, one of the highest honors in action and adventure photography.
But beyond the awards and assignments, Krystle's work is rooted in preparation, trust, resilience, and a deep understanding of the environments and people she photographs. Whether suspended from a cliff, flying in a helicopter, or documenting athletes in remote landscapes, she approaches every story with equal parts courage and intention.
In this conversation, we explore adventure photography, risk, creativity, and what it takes to consistently operate at the highest level.
