Former Seattle Seahawks and Las Vegas Raiders Linebacker KJ Wright joins the show to give the Seahawks' perspective going into Sunday's matchup. An incredibly insightful discussion about the Seahawks' season, playing for Pete Carroll, the 'worst coaching decision in NFL History, and prediction for the game.
One person who is not excited for the flight out to Seattle is The Athletics' Mark Kaboly. He joins the show to discuss the decision to potential start Mason Rudolph, The Steelers' record out West, and more.
Ron brings up two Pittsburgh Sports Anniversaries that have had a significant impact on the city. Where were you when Mario Lemieux returned and how meaningful are the Terrible Towels?
What chances do the Steelers have going into Seattle against the Seahawks? Ray Fittipaldo comes on to preview the matchup, what the Steelers might do at quarterback, and more.
Chelsa Messinger hops on and gives an inside look at the Steelers and Seahawks game as well as her pick for the Thursday Night Football matchup between the New York Jets and Cleveland Browns.
Ron opens the show with a Sports Six Pack. Who are the betting favorites as it currently stands for the NFL? Previewing the West Virginia Bowl Game. Just how bad are the Detroit Pistons?
(Hour 1 with Cook and Joe)
The Steelers won over the weekend and had some help to make their playoff chances even greater. Ron goes over some scenarios in which the Steelers need to happen for them to make the playoffs. It all comes down to the Steelers winning both of their remaining games. The Steelers need to handle their business before worrying about anything else happening. Also a random sports bettor won nearly $500K on a 14 leg parlay.
Kenny or Mason? If Kenny is healthy, do you start him? Peter King joins the show to discuss the topic. He thinks that Mike Tomlin will go back to Pickett if he is healthy. George Pickens was fabulous in the game, which is what the Steelers expected him to be. However, King did not like Pickens' reaction. It was never about questioning his talent, it was about questioning his work ethic, especially his blocking. The Steelers are fighting for their playoff lives going into Seattle.
King reminds us that Seattle is in the same fight in the NFC. He expects an even fight this weekend. If it comes down to the final week, he thinks it is possible the Ravens rest their starters. He also thinks the Steelers could be a "tough out" in the playoffs if they make it and if they play competently offensively. Also of note: he believes Week 18 will be Derrick Henry's last game with the Titans.
(Hour 2 with Cook and Joe)
We open the phone lines to hear from listeners about who the Steelers should start: Mason Rudolph or Kenny Pickett. Ron tells a story about how he caught a pass from Bill Nelson.
The phone lines remain open while we wait for Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin's press conference. Callers do not agree with Ron that the Steelers should start Kenny Pickett. Most listeners say the Steelers should continue to play Mason Rudolph. Mason showed that he has earned the starters role for another week after his performance against the Bengals. Ron does not believe that the Steelers will beat the Seahawks in Seattle no matter who the QB is.
Callers are still adamant that the Steelers should start Mason Rudolph. One caller suggests the advantage goes to Rudolph because of the ability of the deep ball. John in Florida says that Steelers fans should be patient with Mike Tomlin because his best days of coaching are ahead of him.
(Hour 3 with Cook and Joe)
We hear from Mike Tomlin plus Ron gives his reaction.
We react more to the Tomlin press conference and hear from Listeners about the Head Coaches comments.
(Hour 4 with Cook and Joe)
More phone calls on Kenny vs Mason. Ron takes a look at the NFL picture right now. Including what is wrong with the Jacksonville Jaguars. What happened last night in San Francisco? The Ravens absolutely embarrassed the 49ers on Christmas Night solidifying their position in the AFC.
We take the final calls of the day. A Ravens calls in and says she sees the Steelers and Ravens coming down to the wire next season. A Ravens fan with kind words for the Steelers is a rarity.
