I discuss 3 different topics from cards in the Yes or No game from The Micheal Knowles Show. I touch on politics, habits, and the impacts of Trump on the Republican party. This game is designed to help you discuss political and cultural topics with your friends and is a great party game for people who like good and deep conversations.
Every once in a while we all have to "Get After It" in the words of Jocko Willink. Those busy seasons can get incredibly frustrating for couples and can often act like a negative feedback loop. More busy, more frustration, less time spent together, more frustration.
In this episode I lay out a few tips that have helped me make the busy times easier on my marriage and more worth while.
College has been a common point of conversation for a few different people around me the past few weeks, so I decided I would share my thoughts on the matter. I did some things right, I did some things wrong, and I studied the decisions and results of a lot of different peers who struggled. I also talk about the transition from college to work and what helped me. This advice is strictly my opinion and experience, it's worth exactly what you are paying for it, but I really hope it helps!
Little solo episode about the importance of giving all you have when you get married. All the good and bad. Making yourself vulnerable is the only way to truly grow a fruitful marriage and it's impossible if you are holding back the slightest bit of yourself.
I also talk about the importance of giving grace when standards are not kept. Grace and high standards truly go hand in hand, it's important to apply them both with a prudent and just hand.
My new friend Joshie and I sit down to discuss his Purpose. We talk Espresso, bourbon, high standards, and giving Glory to Him.
This episode is dedicated to Joshie's friend John and his brother in-law "Ankle Showin Andrew"
As husbands we are called to be our wives' largest advocate and best ally. That's no easy task and often it takes persistence. In this episode I talk about the times when taking a stand for your wife is necessary and what to do when that stand is against people she loves, jobs she enjoys, and even against her. It's not easy, but it's your responsibility, and you must persist.
Forrest Cooper, creator of the REDACTED Culture Cast joins us to re-state and expand upon his Purpose. We talk about Liberty safes, the hubris of Man, and strategies for reading The Word.
How important is it to find "The Right Person"? Does "The Right Person" even exist? Will they always be "The Right Person"? I share my thoughts about the necessity of focusing on the commitment of marriage vs the qualities of the person your are marrying. It's a tough balance and not something to be taken lightly.
Wil Willis joins The Purpose Podcast to share his Purpose and how it has changed many times throughout his life. We focus in on Integrity and holding standards both internal and external. Wil talks about some of his failures as a father and his mission to rectify those moving forward.
As always this was a great episode and I could not be more appreciative of Wil for taking the time to be on the show!
I hear it time and time again "If I ever said anything like that to my wife I'd be dead"... "I'd end up on the couch".... "She wouldn't speak to me for a week"....
It's unacceptable. As leaders of our families we are called to influence and better our wives and kids alike. In this episode I cover what I think are the steps to building the level of influence with your wife most husbands never have and frankly, never earn.
Step 1: Set the kind of standard for yourself that is worthy of influential respect.
