Short little episode about defining failure and using the fear of failure as motivation
Short little episode about Jocko's first Law of Combat "Cover and Move" and how you can apply that to your marriage.
I talk a little bit about the mentality of "Separation Season". Separation Season is a phrase used by many high performers to describe the time of the year that most people lay off the gas or even put it in reverse. I apply this mentality to fitness, work and financial goals and give you an insight to how I take advantage of Separation Season in my own life.
We also turn back to Jocko Willink's "Discipline Equals Freedom" for a few thoughts that help me take full advantage of Separation Season.
I pull up a random Buzzfeed article about getting married young and give you my thoughts on each piece of advice. Some of them were really good! The others... well just listen for yourself!

Jocko Willink's book "Discipline Equals Freedom" delivers concise and poignant thoughts from a winning mindset. Resembling Meditations by Marcus Aurelius, the book has helped so many people change their lives through small thoughts and monologues touching real life situations we all experience. I personally have used Discipline Equals Freedom to overhaul my mindset and unlock my potential in ways I never could have imagined.
In this episode I cover two of these thoughts and how I have leveraged them in specific situations.
Solo episode about the necessity of leaving parts of yourself behind and coming together as one with your wife. I cover the three reasons why I think people push off marriage, some examples of ways you may have to sacrifice, and I make the argument for getting married sooner rather than later.
After a whole day of doing manual labor, which I never do, I came away with some critical thoughts about achieving large goals and the seemingly impossible task of turning chaos into order.
In this episode I discuss the importance of truly becoming One Flesh, a sovereign unit inside a social and familial network. Holidays, finances, big life events, children; these are all areas that are highly subject to influence from outside parties for young couples and can be very hard on a young marriage. It is crucial to establish boundaries and declare yourselves independent of the outside family and social structures you were in before the marriage. This does not mean leaving those structures behind or turning away from your family, but simply changing the dynamic. There is no longer just "Hoss Rauscher" at the Rauscher Family Christmas. It is now "Mr. & Mrs. Hoss Rauscher". Establishing that difference and declaring your own identity with your spouse is key to the success of a long and happy marriage.
Many understand the broad concept of service especially in the extremes. Most people instantly think about the military, first responders, missions, etc.. They may think about the transactional "service" like customer service, waiting, and professional services. Most people fail to recognize the societal economy of service we live in. Think about that time you did someone a favor, or gave someone a gift, made them dinner. This episode is all about that type of service. Small acts that allow people to become invested in the lives of others. I am absolutely not an expert here, and I've made many mistakes in this area. However, I have had a lot of realizations over the past few years that have helped me greatly improve my relationships and live a much happier life in general.
I talk a lot about holding high standards in your marriage. However, those standards are worth nothing if you cannot hold yourself and your wife both to that standard. Building that culture of accountability inside your marriage is incredibly difficult and not something that should be overlooked. In this episode I reiterate the reasoning behind holding both your wife and yourself to those standards, the importance of backing those standards with an accountability culture, and I share a story about the rewards of doing both in my marriage.
