This is the talk that Adam Clark, professor at Xavier, author of the forthcoming Homebrewed Guide to Salvation, gave the Third Rail Theology event at the Hatchery this past January. Adam looks at the King's legacy as a metaphor for dealing with race, class, and white privilege in the church.

Can the Tea Party and #BlackLivesMatter both claim King and be right? What image of King is being constructed that makes everyone, even the people who oppose the policies he supported, so comfortable with championing him?
