Mark reflects on the important work of Ayanda Mabulu, the selective reporting on so-called racist speech, and the torrid Huffington Post / Shelley Garland affair. Roman explores the limiting of the individual's ability to respond to hate speech and Jonathan questions the threshold of such speech. Mark explains the proposed PEPUDA act and what it might mean for our society, challenges media companies to be honest about their bias, and suggests that Marx be removed from all university curricula to begin the process of "decolonisation".

The guest on this episode of the Renegade Report is the Academic Director of private "university" Akademia, Piet le Roux. The conversation dovetails around the nature of privately funded, community-based tertiary education schemes in contrast to that of State funded universities. Piet offers a strong defence of community-based initiatives while Jonathan questions the reason for Government involvement in educational institutions. Roman get comfortable with another anarchist in the studio, which leads to a rather deep and metaphorical defence of anarchy.

The guest on this instalment of the Renegade Report is Afriforum Deputy CEO, Ernst Roets. Ernst explains the role of civil rights organisations within a democracy, and the importance of protecting minorities in our society. Emphasis is placed on self reliance over state dependence within a corrupt environment. Jonathan questions the role and potential failings of the Constitution in protecting rights, and Roman laments the ongoing notion of race as a real problem - despite evidence otherwise. Ernst gives his view of race merchants and their trade, speaks about Karl Popper's paradox of democracy in how it relates to the South African context, and shares Afriforum's position on the issue of farm murders. There's also discussion about the current political and economic situation in the country and whether the future may lead to a more federalist approach to governance.

Roman goes solo with Catholic priest, Father Chris Townsend. Roman and Chris discuss the purpose of religion in a pluralistic, liberal democracy. Chris argues that religion gives meaning to people and that the church should create dialogue to heal existential and psychological wounds. Roman investigates whether religion really does give people meaning, and what the future of religion might be. The conversation ends with a discussion around the repercussions the sex scandals have had on the church.

On this episode of the Renegade Report, we host infamous journalist and executive editor at Breitbart London, James Delingpole. James explains his influence on Milo Yiannopoulos, his views on the insane left, and his confidence in the future of conservatism. This instalment of the Renegade Report hosts South African expat and history buff, Wessel van Rensburg. He explains his view of colonialism as economically extractive as opposed to the Afrikaner nationalism which followed it. Wessel further argues that nationalism is a key requirement for infrastructure to be built and expands on why Apartheid and colonialism were not the same thing. Jonathan probes deeper into the dangers of nationalism at a state level and Roman queries why other post-colonial African countries' form of nationalism did not have as much development as South Africa. The guest on the show this week is senior Cato Institute fellow Johan Norberg, author of the book 'Progress: Ten Reasons to Look Forward to the Future'. Johan explains how the freedom of exploration, experimentation and exchange has allowed humanity to improve and constantly live better. Jonathan explores whether necessity really is the mother of invention and Roman probes the transformation of Johan's home country, Sweden.
