The Milan Fashion Week season has just wrapped, and as Nicole Phelps and Vogue contributing editor Tiziana Cardini report in today’s episode, it was a week characterized by a feeling of free-wheeling joy. Marni, Gucci, Prada and Bally were among the standouts while Sunnei celebrated its tenth anniversary with a fashion show of 70 and 80-year-old models. Meanwhile, Madonna was the name on everyone’s lips as the guest of honor at Dolce & Gabbana. Sitting in the front row of the Spring 2025 show inspired by her, she was completely covered in a black lace veil. We were obsessed!

Alexa Chung, the multi-hyphenate TV presenter, model, designer, and self-described “geriatric ‘it’ girl” joins The Run-Through podcast this week to walk us through her jam-packed fashion month. From making her New York City Runway debut, to returning to designing after winding down her label, this conversation is an inspiring, and often funny, reflection on reinventing yourself again, and again, and again.

Today we’re celebrating 40 years of London Fashion Week with a special dispatch from Vogue’s own Fashion News Director, Mark Holgate shared his highlights from this season’s shows, including JW Anderson and Roksanda. Later, Chioma Nnadi sat down with New Zealand-born, London-based designer Emilia Wickstead. Wickstead has dressed everyone from Lady Gaga to Kerry Washington to Olivia Colman but also shared that some of her proudest moments as a designer happen when she sees everyday women on the street wearing her clothes.

“I think there's something so special about that,” Wickstead told Chioma. “That's when I feel like we've really made it.”

In honor of the release of In Vogue: The 90s, a six-part retrospective that covers all of the pivotal moments in fashion from that decade, The Run-Through is sharing an episode from the podcast of the same name (originally aired in 2020) that inspired the new docuseries. 

The 90s, a pivotal decade when fashion and mainstream culture collided, can best be understood through the invention of the supermodel. The fashion models who rose to prominence at the turn of the decade, transforming into supermodels, married the fashion industry with mainstream pop culture.

The Run-Through is joined by designer Willy Chavarria ahead of his opening at New York Fashion Week. In an intimate conversation with Vogue Fashion Editor José Criales-Unzueta, Willy shares the ways his own community has inspired him. Whether it’s his tías, his religious upbringing, or the farm labor movement, Willy continues to infuse his work with the people and places that matter the most to him. He gives us a preview of his show “América,” and his motivation behind it, “I want us to see ourselves as people with power who can make things happen.”
