In this edition of Locked on Capitals Dan talks abous the reports that Dimitry Orlov would be open to coming back to the Caps. We know that Orlov and Hathaway got traded to the Bruins when the Caps were sellers at the deadline. The unexpected happened and the Bruins were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. Orlov sounded like he would entertain the ideaof coming back "It's tough -- probably yeah," Orlov said of seeking a potential return to the Capitals. "Gonna talk to my agent. How I see, if they trade me, I don't think it's gonna work out, but we'll see."

Later Dan talks about the next head coach search. Laviolette nd the Caps parted ways shortly after the conclusion of the season. Now the big push to hire the right next head coach. Pierre LeBrun of TSN and The Athletic reports the Capitals plan to interview former player and current Tampa Bay Lightning assistant coach Jeff Halpern as part of their search process for Laviolette’s replacement.

Later Dan talks about Connor McMichael and how he's showing maturity beyond his years in Hershey. “I think it’s just been maturity and he’s invested into our hockey club right now,” Nelson said. “He’s really matured into somewhat of a leader on our hockey team. He says all the right things on the bench. When they scored to make it 2-1 [in Game 2], he was even-keel on the bench, helping the guys out. Then he goes out and performs and that’s a sign of him just growing as a player and he’s getting better and better every day.”
