In Colorado, a heavily armed individual took his own life rather than carrying out a suspected plan to commit a mass shooting at a mountaintop amusement park. His body was discovered in a restroom with the words "I am not a killer" written on the wall, authorities reported on Monday.
The deceased, identified as Diego Barajas Medina, 20, was found in a women's restroom at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park by a maintenance crew on Saturday morning, prior to the park's public opening. According to Garfield County Coroner Robert Glassmire, Medina died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
Medina apparently gained access to the park while it was closed, armed with an AR-style rifle, a semi-automatic handgun, and explosives. He was also equipped with body armor and tactical attire resembling that of a police SWAT team member, as stated by authorities.
