Theories of attachment styles have been around for decades, originally being developed by John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth in the 1950's. They were originally based on the idea that we develop attachment styles based on our early childhood experiences with our caregivers.
But what if it's not just about our early childhood? What if there are other origins for our attachment styles? In this video, I talk about the alternative factors that contribute to the development of attachment styles, which might give you the answer to why you've got an insecure attachment style even if your childhood upbringing was absolutely fine!
Listen in for a deep dive on where your attachment style could've come from, and let me know what you think by dropping me a DM on Instagram.

After reflecting on our time during lockdown, which included virtual dating for some, Chantelle shares her observations of how we had the time to prioritise ourselves and how we should continue to apply that in dating.
It's easy to lose sight of our own needs and desires in favour of pleasing a potential future partner however, it's crucial to remember that prioritising ourselves is essential for maintaining a healthy and fulfilling relationship.

Leaving a long-term relationship is SCARY. You don't know what's going to happen once you intiate the ending... and as soon as you do, the doubt creeps in.
You wonder if you made the right decision. Or you're on the edge of leaving, trying to make sure you make the right decision as to whether to break up with him or not.
I'll share some of the more subtle reasons you were right to make the decision to leave, as well as clarify the more obvious ones (though they're not always obvious to us before) to give you a variety of perspectives on why the relationship might not have been the right one for you.
And through it all, I used my experience of leaving my 7-year relationship to get divorced after just a year of marriage to give you examples of how I knew it was the right decision for me to leave.
Don't second guess yourself - learn why breaking up can be the right decision for your happiness and growth.

From the very first episode of The Single Girl's Guide to Life, Chantelle explores the mindset shift you need to enjoy your single life and stop obsessing over dating. She dives into the pressure we experience when we're single to get back out there and date when we've only just got ourselves out of a relationship. It seems like everyone associates being in a relationship with being happy - and it just isn't true for us all and has limiting effects on how we can enjoy our single life if we stick with that mindset too.

In this week's episode, I share my personal journey of transforming my anxious attachment style into a secure one.
After becoming a single, millennial woman following my divorce, I found I struggled with anxiety in my relationships. In this episode, I share my insights into the challenges of dating with an anxious attachment style and the importance of recognizing and understanding your triggers. I also discuss the significance of communicating your needs and boundaries, and the value of practicing self-compassion.
Through my experience, I share actionable tips and strategies for millennial single women who are looking to break free from their old patterns and build a secure foundation for their relationships.
