Matt Stanislao just wanted to be a cop. His father warned him, and after serving 27 years himself, he knew exactly what the problems Matt would face, which had nothing to do with the public or criminals. After two wrongful terminations rooted in discrimination for being gay, Matt fought back and won. However, he’s not the same officer or the same person. 

In his near 3 year separation from the police department, he was accepted into Columbia University to earn a Masters in advanced clinical social work. After graduating and passing the Boards, he is now also a licensed social worker and chairs the Bergen County Board of a Mental Health. His workshops and film shorts reduce the stigma of asking for help and shows officers that psychotherapy isn’t just for those with mental illness, arguably more for those that are suffering in silence.

Tom Smith began in the NYPD in 1990 and after the Academy was assigned to the 30 Pct in West Harlem. One of the busiest Pct in the NYPD at the time.  While at the 3-0 he was assigned to Anti Crime Unit (Plainclothes) and handled all the gun runs, in progress calls, and Robbery patterns. 

1996-1999 Tom was transferred to the Bronx Narcotics Unit.  Involved in numerous large scale Narcotics cases, one of which involved the DEA which resulted in the seizure on 125 kilos of cocaine from Venezuela 

1999-2000 Tom was assigned to the Bronx Gang Unit where we conducted an investigation that resulted in the Federal arrest of “OG Mac”, the leader of the East Coast Bloods

2000-2003. Tom then went to the 52 pct Robbery Squad and the 41 Detective Squad. 

2003-2020 Tom was finally Assigned to the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force. Involved in numerous International and Domestic Terrorism cases. Briefed the highest levels of government. Traveled to 18 countries leading investigations, including a three month deployment to Afghanistan running a kidnapping case of a New York Times Reporter. We successfully got him home

Stanley (Tony) Woods was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey. He is a proud graduate of Seton Hall Prep High School and the University of Pittsburgh with a B. A. in Communications. Tony had a successful NFL career from 1987 to 1996. Stanley (Tony) Woods is a member of the Seton Hall Prep Hall of Fame, the Newark Hall of Fame and the New Jersey State Hall of Fame.

James Gardner lives in New Jersey with his wife of forty years, Kelly.

Together they have three daughters and five grandchildren. 

James had a lengthy career in corporate finance, accounting and auditing before retiring in 2019. 

In 2020, James began substitute teaching at a local elementary school. In the same year he and Kelly launched their podcast, Your History Your Story.

A history enthusiast since childhood, James  loves encouraging people to share stories about themselves and members from their own family trees that will inspire others to do the same.

A survivor of prostate cancer, James feels led to share his experience and to encourage other men facing that disease.

John Sullivan was born January 1, 1960 and was raised on the tough streets of Yorkville on the East Side of NYC.  His father was killed when he was 2 years old his Mother left his sister and John to be raised by his Grandmother.  Raising a young child was tough in that neighborhood and John’s Grandmother did her best until the streets got the best of him.

John found himself getting into trouble frequently and eventually ended up in some of the toughest prisons on the east coast.  His reputation in the neighborhood followed John for many years in the 70’s and 80’s until he was able to turn his life around and find strength in helping others stay clean and out of trouble.

Gene Hauburger grew up, and raised his family, in Orangeburg NY located in Rockland County. He married his wife, Noreen O’Shea, in 1993. Gene worked as a Supreme Court Officer for 31 years and retired in 2014. He has two daughters, Amanda and Kelly and a son, Jimmy, who was tragically lost to suicide at the age of 17 after being bullied and cyber bullied. 

After Jimmy’s passing in 2015, family and friends organized the Jimmy Hauburger Memorial Foundation (Jimmyhauburgermemorialfoundation.org)whose mission is:

To support programs that increase awareness of teen issues such as Bullying, emotional distress and teen suicide. It is our hope that the foundation saves lives, and by sharing Jimmy’s story, we know that it already has. In 2020 Gene moved to Lake George in the Adirondacks, with his wife following in 2022, for a slower and more peaceful way of life.

In Lynn Cluess Manzione’s career, she has explored multiple genres to bring attention to social issues through storytelling. 

As a photographer she has spent over thirty-five years capturing moments, events, careers, and the works of non-profit organizations across the globe.

As an author her work has included two books; A Wondrous Journey- A small book with big lessons, and, When The World Shut Down- A community time capsule of the 2020 pandemic. 

Lynn most recently wrote and produced the documentary, Addressed To You From Jimmy, to bring the topic of bullying and suicide to the public's much needed attention. Addressed To You From Jimmy has been a feature presentation at The New York State Psychological Association Conference 2021, and The American Counseling Association Conference 2022.

It is currently showing at various film festivals.

Mark Hettinger Jr (Firefighter, EMT, Fire, Inspector, Arson Investigator, Firearms Instructor, ECT.) is a highly decorated first responder with over 20+ years of experience with numerous Awards, comondations and citations for his work and life-saving efforts. When not saving or protecting lives, he's teaching other people how to, as an educator.

Born the oldest of three boys, and coming to terms with his own sexuality at a very young age struggled his way through his coming of age and his fashion due to his identity. identifies as a gay male.

Mark is also an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community serving on the Bergen County LGBTQ advisory committee for the county executive as well as chairman  of GLSEN NNJ among other organizations and agencies.

Ashley Marie, who has been a first responder for the past 13 years, has faced many battles to discover who she truly is. She spent the first 20+ years denying who she was and struggled with anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideations. Boxing up all of these emotions led her to full-blown addiction. Ashley, who identifies as a Trans Woman, was born a male and struggled with her gender identity for years. In 2016 she hit rock bottom and became determined to turn her life around. Ashley is now an advocate for both the LGBTQ+ and Recovery communities. 

What binds these two remarkable individuals together, they are brother and sister.  Family Bonds are strong even amongst unusual circumstances.

Dennis Benigno is the founder and CEO of Street Cop Training and began formal police instruction in 2012.  His law enforcement career began in 2001 at 19 years of age as an NJ Corrections Officer. In 2004, Benigno became a police officer with the US Park Police Dept. in Washington, DC, and in 2005 moved over to the position of a police officer in one of NJ’s largest municipalities.  He has received multiple awards including but not limited to Lifesaving, Meritorious Service, Mayor’s Award for Excellence in Public Service, Several Letters of Recognition, Leadership awards, and Certificates of Appreciation from several law enforcement organizations.  As a police officer, Benigno has affected over 1,500 arrests and has conducted well over 10,000 motor vehicle stops.  He now leads one of the fastest-growing LEO education companies in the country.

Dennis is recognized as not only an instructor but as a thought leader and influencer in modern-day policing.  His outspoken vision of changing law enforcement for the better has struck the hearts of over 500,000 followers on social media platforms alone.  He has now partnered with several non-profits and works to provide no-cost support to several families and members of the law enforcement community.

Bobby Crudele comes from a family that has deep roots in Jersey City and Belleville and as a kid moved to North Arlington. After living in Jersey City for a decade as an adult, Bobby met his wife Kara and eventually bought a house in North Arlington where he currently resides and raises his 3 children. Bobby has served honorably as a Sergeant in the North Arlington Police department and will finish his career with distinction this year.   His deep love of sports rose out of I growing up on the playground, spending most of his entire youth playing some sport every day continuing into adulthood.   It didn’t matter if it's Football, Basketball, or Softball, if there was an adult league Bobby played and did it like it was his job all because his love for the games. 

At some point that love turned into a passion to coach. Bobby started coaching baseball in Belleville in the 1990s, followed by some basketball in the early 2000s. But over the past 15 years Bobby became the president of boys recreation and travel basketball and the VP of The junior Vikings football program as well as a defensive backs coach , running backs coach and later defensive coordinator for the senior level team. Currently he holds the position of president of the junior Vikings football program. Bobby has collaborated with some of the best coaches in North Jersey HS football and attended multiple coaching clinics. 

Bobby’s motto has always been, “ I may not be the most knowledgeable coach out there but I’ll never be out worked” that attitude has defined his coaching style and served his players well.
