N,N-Dimethyltryptamine (“DMT”) is an extremely potent psychedelic molecule of the tryptamine class that has been described as “the spirit molecule” for producing “divine-like” experiences within individuals that consume the substance.
DMT induces intense visionary and hallucinogenic experiences that may include dynamic geometric forms, machinescapes, communication with other “dimensional” entities, or feelings of “ego death” and loss of self.
DMT is the main psychoactive ingredient in ayahuasca, a ceremonial brew consumed by Amazonian tribes. Ayahuasca has recently been implicated in providing positive benefits to individuals afflicted with a number of psychiatric disorders including obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, and interpersonal sensitivity (see research from Dr. Jordi Riba; Dr. Debora Gonzalez; Dr. Brad Adams).
