What are PFAS? Why does soft water "feel" soft? Do electronic water treatment options work? What's the deal with citrus-based systems?
In this episode, we answer all these questions and more as we dive deep into the fascinating world of water filtration with our special guest, Steve Hamilton.
Steve is the National Sales Manager for Frankin Water Treatment.
He has multiple degrees, including a B.A. in pre-med, an MBA, and several trade degrees. He is also a published writer for WC&P. (See links below)
Steve takes us through the many different water filtration processes, explaining the various methods and the science behind each one.
From "Saltless", reverse osmosis, softeners, and conditioners, to magnetic options, we’ll explore the pros and cons of each technique, and help you understand which method might be best for your needs.
Whether you're a homeowner looking to improve your tap water quality, a tech looking to expand their knowledge, or just curious about the processes that make our water safe to drink, this episode is packed with valuable insights and practical advice.
We also discuss the opportunities within the water treatment industry if you are looking to make a career change.
Check out Steve's articles below and links to seed the water quality levels in your area.
***Special thanks to Josh B. for contacting Steve and getting him to be a guest!***

Mindset is a huge component of success in any endeavor in life, not just service plumbing. Client interaction is the cornerstone of service and without the right mindset, you will receive mediocre results at best.
In episode 25 Josh B. and I discuss the idea of mindset and how to improve it with small and simple adjustments that compound over time.

In this episode, I go over some of the most common questions I have been asked about a plumbing apprenticeship. I review the pros and cons of union, the differences between service, new construction, and commercial, and tips for finding that first apprenticeship and how to stand out.

In this episode, Josh and I speak with Ty, a 2nd generation plumber who comes from Roto-Rooter where he was the service manager for some time.
He shares his experience working for one of these larger private equity/corporate companies and how dropping out of college ( but later returning to receive his associate's) led to a very lucrative career in plumbing where he strives to be a leader in his field by embracing the "Education Over Persuasion" philosophy and ditching the high-pressure sales/scare tactics that are unfortunately a part of our industry.
He also offers his advice on new constriction vs service for apprentices who are unsure and discusses the differences between a leader and a manager.
