This week, the boys cover Tony’s race from Santa Cruz 70.3 and his most recent qualification, 70.3 World Champs! They talk about course specifics, performance specifics, and what an incredible group was there to represent. The guys also talk about the recent news of the PTO “canceling” their original Grand Final and moving it early to Dubai. Was this planned? Is the PTO doomed? Tune in and find out.
The boys are back together…again. Chris fills in everyone on where he has been and what has happened in his life. He talks about Philly Live with Varlo and his upcoming race. The guys also talk about the Santa Cruz race and sort of preview the course and what to expect for anyone who may be racing it. From there, the guys aimlessly talk about the world of triathlon. It’s just like old times.
Guess what? Another week without Chris. Chris was unhappy with his contract and we are back in negotiations. Looks like we will have to get him that beach house he has been asking for. Anyway, Tony and Austin get into some pre-race talk for Tony now that he is registered for Santa Cruz. They talk expectations and how age group racing is very different from the pro field. The fellas talk about recent race news, world records and also touch on some new tech in the triathlon world. Are prices getting out of hand? Are the consumers to blame for the exorbitant amounts that are being charged for all of this gear?
Another week without Chris. This is starting to become a regular thing. Tony and Austin get into what is coming up for Tony and some possible races. They segway into some marathon qualification talk and logistics as well. The boys recap the racing over the weekend in Frankfurt and how impressive KB’s performance was. Who is looking like Kona's favorite now as we get closer? Also, the guys talk about the T100 and how that will shake out at the end of the year. They close out with a discussion regarding pacer etiquette at ultras. Listen in and let us know if you agree or disagree.
The boys are back together. Chris’ holdout and contract negotiations have settled, and he is back. He talks about his recent health issues and what has been going on in life. They go over the weeks coming up and his recent race at the Coveathlon. The boys also debrief on the Olympics and the highs and lows. Then, the boys make some quick picks for IM Frankfurt this weekend—no frills, just picks.
Another Chris-less show this week. Tony and Austin have an open chat about doping following the recent news of Tomas Rodriguez Hernandez testing positive for a banned substance. They talk about what it means for the sport. Is it a good thing? Is it a bad thing? Is doping more common than we think? The boys also go over the week in the Olympics and some of their favorite moments, including the mixed team relay in triathlon. The guys also talk about the extremely sad news coming from the CrossFit community regarding an athlete drowning at the CrossFit games. They share their opinions on the choice of the event and overall water safety. Also, Tony gets to hate on his favorite female triathlete/mom on the show.
In this week’s episode, it’s another two-thirds showing from the crew with the self-proclaimed bad boys of the podcast, Austin and Tony. This episode is very tame but jam-packed with race coverage. We start by tackling the Olympic races and the controversy surrounding them all. From there, we recap T100 London. We discuss the T100 issuing drafting penalties, or the lack thereof, and talk about some of the impressive performances and some not-so-impressive.
This week, Tony and Chris are the hosts of the show, so we apologize if you are just here for Austin. In this episode, we discuss Sam Laidlow's DQ while attempting to validate his Kona entry as the returning world champion and what has ensued since. We also discuss the new Lightspray upper technology introduced by ON Running, which allows for their latest Cloudboom Strike LS to be laceless and the upcoming Ironman Lake Placid start list.
In this week’s show, the guys recap Roth and the level of racing that is going on around the world. With many record-breaking performances, who will be the first male to run a 2:30 marathon in an Ironman or the first woman to go under 8 hours in an Ironman? The boys also discuss the viability of the T100 and if some of the athletes are getting cold feet about the series as a whole. Also, they all make their “way too early” picks for Kona…and Nice in a season-long tracking to see how their picks change and evolve as the big day gets closer.
This week, the guys will catch up on all the race action that has happened and is upcoming: Mont Tremblant 70.3, Olympic Trials, Western States. Peak race season is upon us. Tony gives his opinion about swim buoys, and the fellas discuss the Olympic Trials and whether it is unfair for a mishap to shape a potential gold medalist’s chances of going to Paris. Chris also promises to start making videos again, and Austin gets personal…sort of.
