Hey everybody! Episode 153 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with Satya. This was my second time speaking with her. I have had the chance to get to know Satya and her work more since the first interview and I was very impressed with her ability to bridge different modalities together to create cathartic experiences for her guests and to help them to learn tools to do this work better. In this episode we spoke about this, about diagnosing and the felt-sense and presence that that involves, about ayahuasca, psychology and the bridging of ancient wisdom with more modern therapeutic ways of working with sacraments, and many other topics. I trust you all will gain much from this episode and the wisdom that Satya has to share. As always, to support this podcast, check out my Patreon page below. Enjoy!

Hey everybody! Episode 152 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with Manda Scott. Manda is an author, podcasters, shamanic dreaming practitioner, and works on a number of regenerative projects. I really enjoyed sitting down and speaking with her about these subjects as well as what she describes as a trauma culture from the Roman conquest and what more indigenous societies can teach us about ways forward. Manda has spent a lot of time with these subjects and questions and her knowledge is apparent in how she beautifully shares. I trust you all will get much from this episode. Hey everybody! Episode 151 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with my friend Brian James. Brian now has the distinction of being the first guest to be featured three times on this podcast. I brought Brian on to speak about his new book, Traumadelic. I was really happy to have Brian on again to speak about how he sees the overemphasis on trauma, and the more Western psychological model as whole, is potentially taking away from the richness and vastness of the more traditional shamanic experience. As plant medicine work moves in the Western mainstream, it is understandable that it will adapt and be incorporated into Western ways and cosmovisions. However, this does not come without cost, often severely limiting in scope and potentiality the benefits of both plant medicines and the traditional ways of working with them. This may be a controversial topic to some, as much of this has become a new dogma, but, as we speak about, heresy is rarely accepted with open arms and ultimately a pursuit of truth, however uncomfortable, is to be valued. I trust this conversation will be enlightening and shift some views that we may hold or not even realize that we are holding. Hey everybody! Episode 150 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with Martha Carlin. Martha has a fascinating story. After her husband was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, she quit her job and dedicated her life to better understanding the root of the disease. She began to discover that the Western medical system didn’t have a lot of answers and in her research she discovered the importance of the gut microbiome, both in Parkinsons and chronic diseases at large. It was a pleasure to speak with Martha and have her share in her decades of work and knowledge. We spoke about disease, the gut microbiome, the deleterious consequences of many Western lifestyle practices, holistic approaches to healing, the mind-body connection, and many other topics. I think Martha is a true scientist in the real meaning of that word and her insights and wisdom should be valuable to anyone interested in health and the human condition. Hey everybody! Episode 146 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with Carole Guyett. Carole was recommend to me by my friend’s Cathy Coyle and Marta Fabregat, both of whom I interviewed, and it was serendipitous as I had just read one of Carole’s books and thought she would be a great guest. We sat down and had a really fascinating conversation about her background, her work as an herbalist, sacred plants and their ability to teach, Irish mythology, star beings, pregnancy, and other topics as well. Hey everybody! Episode 149 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with Alex Lasarev. I met Alex many years ago through a mutual friend, John Keegan, who I also had on the podcast (ep. 60). Over the years I really respected what Alex stood for, especially during the pandemic where he was, for me, a voice of reason and dissent against much of the authoritarianism. Alex has had a really interesting life and we spoke about his background, traumatic childhood, how that led him to overcome his fear and become a renowned dating coach, his journey into spirituality and plant medicines, the Covid pandemic and how he was an advocate of freedom and love, his work with cancer treatments, and his role as a comedian and the power of comedy. This was a really varied interview and Alex has a fascinating life and I think you all can gain from his life and wisdom. Hey everybody! Episode 148 of the show is out. In this episode, I spoke with Remi & Ashley of Kumankaya Healing Center. I had heard about Remi a number of years ago as I am friends with and have interviewed two of his friends and colleagues, Joe Tafur (ep15) and Martina Drassl (ep42). They spoke very highly of Remi and his dedication and skill to the plant medicine path. He was a Christian monk for a number of years before apprenticing with a renowned Shipibo Onaya (ayahuasquero) Ricardo Amaringo, at the healing center Nihue Rao. That is where he met Ashley, his wife, who has had an interesting journey herself coming to plants and also apprenticed there. It was a pleasure to sit down with both of them and learn about their background, speak about plants, ayahuasca, the Shipibo lineage, dietas, master plants, cosmovisions, and what they have learned on their path. Their depth of knowledge, training, and wisdom in this field is very apparent and I trust you all will gain much from their extensive knowledge. “Remi Delaune and Ashley are co-founders of the alternative healing center Kumankaya in Mexico. Remi is a Western healer who spent over 20 years in an Greek Orthodox monastery before becoming a sacred medicine practitioner. Like Remi, Ashley acquired her plant medicine training in the jungles of Peru undergoing years of severe aestheticism to learn how to help people with the knowledge of master plant diets and Ayahuasca. Together, Remi and Ashley have over 20 years of experience and more than 10 years of master plant diets.”

In episode 147 of the show, I spoke with Pervis Urquia. Pervis was recommended to me by my good friend Claire Bouleau who has been working with him for the last years. It was a pleasure to sit down with Pervis and his translator, Linberg, to speak about his life, his work, ayahuasca, dietas, prayers, God, and Shipibo culture. Pervis has a really beautiful and strong presence and I trust you will gain much from this interview. Thank you Beth Adele for the subtitles. “Pervis Urquia is the seventh child of a large family from the Shipibo community of El Porvenir. His Shipibo name is Niwe, which means Pure Wind. From  an early age, he witnessed the healing skills of his uncle Esteban, who used medicinal plants and chanted healing icaros to heal illnesses. In 1990, Pervis was confronted with an unknown disease, and despite seeking a cure in the city with pharmaceutical drugs, he found no improvement. But his luck changed when he met his uncle Cecilio Flores, who provided treatment using traditional medicine and the power of plants, with strict diets after eating plant leaves. He regained his energy and received praise from his uncle, who encouraged him to continue developing his potential and wisdom in the use of plants to cure diseases. His faith was strong practicing the power of prayers. He continues his mission of receiving patients and offering his valuable treatments based on ancestral knowledge of medicinal plants and their connection to the supernatural.”
