💸How do you split your finances when your partner earns much more than you?
How can we spot financial infidelity, and what is financial abuse?
How can we start talking about money with a partner?
A recent survey of 600 therapists shows a third reported an increase in clients talking about relationship problems sparked by rising living costs. The therapists also noted that more clients were finding it difficult to leave their partner because of financial concerns.
My guest today is Lottie Leefe, qualified wealth planner and founder of The Dura Society, offering private client coaching and divorce concierge services, enabling engagement not just with finances, but with overall well-being, relationships and emotions. 💸 What exactly happened with Silicon Valley Bank?
How does this collapse differ from what happened to the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy?
How do banks actually make money?
Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), which held $200 billion worth of deposits, collapsed, sending shockwaves through the industry.
Banking regulators shut down SVB after the bank's valuation collapsed, resulting in the second-largest bank failure in US history after Lehman Brothers.
With the help of the government and private sector, the focus was on containing the contagion and ensuring that businesses could stay afloat.
In this episode, we’ll look at what happened at SVB over the past few months, the investment choices the bank made and the impact of the rise in interest rates that had led to deposit withdrawals and a loss of capital.

💸Do you find yourself worried about personal safety and economic security?
Are you frustrated by the inequalities women still face in 2023?
Do you find yourself increasingly fed up with the patriarchy?
Well, you’re not alone. One in six UK women will experience economic abuse, which exists in 95% of domestic abuse cases. These stats have worsened due to the aftermath of the pandemic and the cost of living crisis. While the world celebrates International Women’s Day #IWD, we question whether there’s all that much to celebrate at all – given the terrible state of affairs when it comes to everything from the gender pay gap to violence against women.
On today’s episode, we speak to Marisa Bate – a freelance journalist, author and regular commentator on feminist issues about the extra cost of being a woman, the importance of women taking charge of their finances, structural inequalities and more.

[AD - episode sponsored by Wealthify] 💸Do you feel paralysed when it comes to getting started with investing? Are you afraid of taking the plunge? Have you wondered whether it’s worth investing in the current economic climate?
To help us answer these questions, Emilie Bellet sat down with Michelle Pearce-Burke, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer at Wealthify, an investment platform with a simple mission: to make investing accessible to anyone. Michelle began her career as a stockbroker for a boutique firm in Guernsey, but she believed that investing should be available to everyone (and not just the wealthy). This led to her launching Wealthify in 2014, at the age of just 25.

💸Initial Public Offerings – also known as IPOs is the first sale of stock (shares) in a company to the public. But is this something you should invest in, and how do you know if an IPO is worth your money?
On today’s Hotline episode, I’ll outline what exactly IPOs are, the technicalities involved and whether you should leap into investing in one (or perhaps sit it out).
